BTCPay Server continues to build. Paired with @deverickapollo's work on the Monero plug-in, we are getting closer to an incredible system that will benefit the world with private and sovereign payments with self-hosted free open source software. Last I heard, Milestone 2 is nearly complete and milestone 3 potentially coming within the next few months. Stay focused! Thanks to the incredible devs in the WHOLE ecosystem, we support you!

We're continuing to make the plugin system in @BTCPayServer better! Love working with @thgO_O & @TChileta - building in our little FOSS oasis and making things better every day. Plugin builders - your feedback shapes the next features. Send comments!

@CoinCards That make me think that we should add a feature to set fixed, network specific fee to invoices.

Coincards.com - Buy Gift Cards with Bitcoin!
Coincards + Monero 🧡 - Adapting to Canada’s Regulatory Roadblocks 🚨 Over the last few days, Canadian regulators pressured exchanges like Kraken to drop XMR, and they bent the knee. This killed our ability, as a Canadian-based company, to easily convert XMR back to BTC/CAD/USD (and we still need to cover gift card costs). With centralized exchanges no longer an option, we’re forced to use decentralized exchanges and other apps to liquidate XMR. These often come with fees, liquidity costs and regulatory hurdles/risks. We hate adding costs — but we really have no choice. That’s why Monero payments now include a small "Regulatory Liquidation Fee". 👉 Not profit, just pass-through costs 👉 May adjust with market conditions 👉 Without it, XMR wouldn’t be possible This isn’t about profit — it’s about adapting to a regulatory environment that treats privacy like a crime. We’ll keep making the adjustments needed so Monero users can continue paying with XMR on Coincards as long as legally possible. 🫡 We know fees suck — and we don’t want to charge them. If it feels too high, we strongly suggest using your favourite swap service to pay with Bitcoin or Lightning ⚡️ (Selecting Bitcoin as a payment method on our site also brings up Tracodor as an option to pay with alts). Some of our competitors may avoid this fee simply because they aren’t under Canadian regulations, and we understand if you move towards them; unfortunately, for now, that’s outside our control. #Monero #XMR

The irony of the Samourai Wallet forfeiture funds being the first official deposit into the SBR captures the current moment in Bitcoin/crypto pretty well, IMO.

@deverickapollo hey man I cannot for the life of me connect to the Monero Node I created using your app on Umbrel. Was hoping you could point me in the right direction.

Everybody can't go. This is the hardest lesson. You'll spend years trying to bring people with you. Family. Friends. Teammates. People you love and you respect. You want to set them free. You'll share what you've learned. Show them what you've built. Explain how you escaped. But not everyone will follow. Some are too comfortable in their chains. They can't see the cage they're in. They would rather complain about the system than leave it. Some don't want the responsibility that comes with freedom. They will choose familiar suffering over unfamiliar possibility. The path to freedom is always narrow. The crowd is always going the other direction. The job isn't to drag people to freedom. Your job is to be free yourself. Show them what's possible. To leave the door open. But not everybody will walk through it. And everybody can't go.

With BTCPay Server 2.1.0, Monero support has transitioned to a community-driven plugin. Developers @deverickapollo and Napoly are leading the charge to ensure seamless Monero payments for merchants. Why this matters for #Monero adoption: • Keeps XMR usable on BTCPay…key for merchant payments • Enables hosted multi-vendor setups (huge for growth) • Shifts control to Monero devs, not outsiders • Defends privacy payments as others censor them Contribute here: ccs.getmonero.org/proposals/btcp…

@exitnode_ @Maya_Protocol @NEARProtocol Explain to me how someone can swap $1 million USD of XMR to anything else without using a centralised service today. A DEX is the only option. If you hate the UI go build a better one, the protocol is what works. Monero needs to race fast to catch up, Serai is its only hope.

Zcash won the DEX arms race. It is now on 2 DEX's with >1 million USD liquidity: @Maya_Protocol and @NEARProtocol. Monero still has no DEX, minimal liquidity on atomic swaps, and has every LE crosshair in the world aimed at compromising it. I have lost faith in XMR.
dark.fail@DarkDotFail

Privacy coins still have no DEX worth using. Obtaining untraceable money like Monero or Zcash Orchard requires leaving a trace on logged centralized exchanges and swap sites, today's biggest risk factor for surveilled crypto users.

Today, we're launching the completely rebuilt Bitcoin Node app for umbrelOS. It started with a simple question: What if running your own Bitcoin node wasn't just easy, but a genuinely beautiful experience? This is the result.
