The City Hall internal review. which was shared during an all-hands meeting with staff lead by First Deputy Mayor Torres-Springer and Camille Joseph-Varlack last week, was described as "meh" by some staff. See for yourself: nyc.gov/assets/operati…

NYC Emergency Management
NYC Emergency Management@nycemergencymgt·
NYC Emergency Management is monitoring a potential severe geomagnetic storm that may impact New York City on October 10-11. Our federal partners from the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) have issued a Geomagentic Storm Watch. NYC Emergency Management advises New Yorkers to monitor Notify NYC for emergency updates. Sign up for alerts at NYC.gov/notifynyc or by calling 311. While the public does not need to take any action at this time, we always encourage everyone to stay informed through Notify NYC and having an emergency plan in place that includes a Go Bag with an AM radio. Impacts to critical infrastructure, including GPS, power grids, and communications including inaccuracies or disruptions, are possible.

A fast CME erupted from the Sun the evening of 8 Oct and is likely to arrive at Earth on 10 Oct. This CME has been analyzed and there is potential to reach G4 levels upon arrival and throughout CME passage. Visit swpc.noaa.gov/news/g4-severe… for the full story.

I have my doubts about our ability to achieve Vision Zero in Philadelphia when every fire house typically has multiple huge personally owned trucks parked on the sidewalk, severely hampering pedestrian access.

This morning, my thoughts are with the thousands of New York City workers who took their jobs and go in every day not because of dedication to the individual at the top of the org chart, but out of a commitment to public service and what they do for New York City. /1

This indictment is hard on the Mayor and also hard on New York City. We need leadership on so many issues and it will be difficult to get answers on legislative proposals, policy ideas, and ongoing projects. (1 of 3)

Something truly hilarious is happening at Penn today: The University President asked Philly PD to come sweep the encampment. They refused, saying it does not pose an imminent threat to life or property.
