Tonight is your best chance to see the Lyrid Meteor Shower, even from a City The Lyrid meteor shower, one of the oldest recorded in human history, reaches its peak tonight, April 21, into the early hours of April 22. Even if you live in a brightly lit city, you still have a good opportunity to catch a glimpse. The Lyrids are famous for producing bright, dramatic “fireballs” — fast-moving meteors that streak across the sky at roughly 30 miles per second (48 km/s). While dark-sky observers might see 10 to 18 meteors per hour, the brightest ones can often punch through light pollution and remain visible even in urban areas. The best viewing window is in the hours before dawn, when the constellation Lyra climbs higher in the northeastern sky. The meteors appear to radiate from a point near the brilliant star Vega. You don’t need fancy equipment. Just find a spot with as clear a view of the sky as possible, lie back, and look up. Some enthusiasts set up cameras with long-exposure settings to capture the streaks, but the most memorable moments often come when you least expect them — a sudden, brilliant trail blazing across the darkness. Meteor showers are wonderfully unpredictable. You might watch for an hour and see nothing… and then, in one breathtaking instant, a glowing fireball lights up the sky. That’s the magic of the Lyrids. Tonight, all you need is a little patience and the willingness to look up. Whether you’re in the countryside or the heart of a glowing city, the sky may still deliver something unforgettable.

I need to again crowd source suggestions for a hot sauce (or two or three). No big brands. Unique. Boutique. Small batches. Get the idea? I don’t need it to be a challenge. So none of that Carolina reaper or ghost pepper stuff. Flavor. Is there a BowTied on hit sauce scene?
