@dirkdada Just because someone tells you something for a while doesn't mean you just believe it. She's listening to people who are also going about it as far as they know. They say that's the case. That doesn't mean it's true. Gwen was susceptible to believe it doesn't mean she just should

I hate Twitter sometimes. Saying this about a 16 year old traumatized girl is disgusting even if she is fictional. Also not even remotely true. Spider-Gwen never dated Peter.

@BrojayLouw You can say that, but that doesn't make it true. It's a fantastical idea, yes, based on fundamental "laws' we don't understand which govern the Web of Life and Destiny. But fantastical ≠ illogical within the confines of the story.

@BrojayLouw Miles hasn't figured anything out yet. He's just refused to let his dad die after 5 minutes of mostly strangers convincing him he should. Perfectly understandable reaction from Miles. But he's not yet working with any actual information.

@BrojayLouw Gwen isn’t blindly trusting Miguel. She’s responding to months of reinforced social proof inside a system where everyone around her has seen the same patterns. The audience is allowed to doubt canon. Gwen, in her position, realistically wouldn’t.

@BrojayLouw That doesn’t make canon objectively true. The movie clearly wants us to question it. But it does make Gwen’s belief in it completely logical from her point of view.

@ravenjo16 @aestheticsguyy Their arc in Beyond won’t be about whether Miles and Gwen love each other anymore. That part’s already clear. It'll be about whether they can rebuild the bond Gwen broke b/w them & whether Miles can accept the flawed, imperfect girl Gwen hid behind the mask in Across.

It’s not the same soft, hopeful love anymore. It’s wounded. But Miles is growing, not becoming a different person.+

@BrojayLouw Also, I sincerely hope that canon is not a complete mass delusion, because *that* would be unbelievable. Miguel needs to be right enough that it was plausible to believe it was true. I'd rather Miles discover a way to fix things rather than him just being purely right by luck.

@BrojayLouw Again, this is an assumption. You don't know how Miles' future would change based on whether his father lives or dies. Saying it's unimportant doesn't make it so. The conceit of Canon is that it *is* important. Otherwise, it wouldn't be an event.

@BrojayLouw Omg, the point of his choice was not to avoid a paradox. He has the legit choice to save Ben and he chose not to b/c doing it meant he wouldn't save others in the future. He sacrificed Ben in the moment to keep all the good he'd done since Ben's death.

@BrojayLouw There's no point in showing the audience "evidence" that will be gibberish anyway b/c Canon is a fictional conceit that can't actually be true in the real world. It's like Avatar's Unobtainium. You just accept it b/c that's what the story is about and needs to function.
