We cultivate a school-wide culture of literacy, inquiry, and innovation, that empowers students to become lifelong learners. #DallasISDLibraries #DallasISDPROUD

Thank you UPSA Family! I feel loved! #schoollibrarymonth @urbanparkes @DISD_Libraries @DISDLibDirector

5th grade practiced Digital Literacy and Digital Citizenship by learning how to identify parts of online articles and how to verify their authenticity. They are ready to learn independently in middle school! #margaretbhenderson @dallasisd @DISD_Libraries @DISDLibDirector

National School Library Month is here, and two @Region1DISD @wwsamuell VT media specialists are shining across @dallasschools! Congrats to Ms. Hullet @CREWatDISD (TopES & DISD) and Ms. Harris @BlantonBruins (TopES) for inspiring a love of reading in our students every day. 💙💛📖

We are so grateful for Ms. Newton 💜🐆

🎙️Today’s #SchoolLibraryMonth spotlight is our podcast zone! This space gives students the chance to create, collaborate, and share their ideas in powerful ways. This year we had 61 podcasts recorded by students! @DISD_Libraries @dallasschools @TxASL @TXLA @sljournal @ALALibrary

2nd Grade scholars at #MartinWeissLibrary are actively engaged and learning to code with Ozobots. @WeissLeadership @DISDLibDirector @DISD_Libraries

At Stemmons Elementary, Kezia Griffin runs 28 scheduled class visits PER WEEK — making the library the most consistently used instructional space on campus. At Irma Rangel YWLS, Christene Estrada challenged students to read 20 books in the first nine weeks and hosts book club during ALL lunch periods so every student can participate. At Carpenter Elementary, Khalilah Berry restructured the "New Arrivals" section based entirely on student requests — because when kids choose what's on the shelf, they choose to read.

At Buckner Terrace Montessori, Shinea Wright partnered with the PTA to launch "Read More, Achieve More!" and just celebrated 25 students who logged over 5,000 minutes of reading OUTSIDE of school. At Conner Elementary, Suzanne Madrid reads the first chapter of a book on the morning announcements every Friday. By the end of the day, students are lined up at the library to check it out. That's how you build a reading culture!

April is School Library Month and I need to brag on the librarians of Dallas ISD @DISD_Libraries . What they're doing for students across this district isn't just impressive. It's transformational. A thread about the REAL impact happening in Dallas ISD libraries every single day. 🧵👇 #SchoolLibraryMonth #DallasISD @NicoleWBixby @DrElenaSHill @Dallasacademics

Nothing makes me happier than putting out a full table of free books and to see half of it get wiped out during dismissal! Celebrating the joy of reading for #SchoolLibraryMonth ❤️ @DISD_Libraries @TxASL @TXLA @sljournal @ALALibrary @PanthersHHS
