The existence of Ilhan Omar is honestly amazing. She’s spent the past 20 years presenting herself to the world as a persecuted refugee and entire legions of progressive journalists have dedicated themselves to pushing this official line and sane-washing her story. For example, her Wikipedia quotes a Guardian article which states that her father “raised her to know the importance of democracy.” In reality, her father was a feared colonel in a Marxist dictatorship which carried out a brutal genocide against minority groups in Somalia. Her family only fled Somalia when they lost power, which is when they decided to reinvent themselves as lovers of hashtag diversity, pluralism, democracy, blah blah blah. Armed with this new inspirational backstory, Ilhan Omar managed to get herself elected to the United States Congress by exploiting the guilty consciences of naive white liberals who thought they were voting for a genuine persecuted refugee. And once elected, she didn’t even bother to pretend to care about America. She hosted events with politicians from Somalia who openly shouted with ecstatic glee that she only served Somali interests. Everyone saw these videos but we were all supposed to just pretend that it’s normal, because noticing that Ilhan Omar cared more about Somalia than America would be racist or something. Members of her own party saw these videos which presented undeniable proof that she didn’t even see herself as American, but they were so broken by Western self-hatred that they had to just pretend that it was fine. And she’s continued like this for years now. When she speaks in English she talks about multiculturalism, pluralism and kindness. But when she speaks to her community in Somali - when she thinks white liberals aren’t looking - she’s basically like “GENOCIDE THE SOMALILANDER RATS!” Naive white liberals post # I Stand With Ilhan Omar hashtags as she just runs around calling for the mass murder of ethnic minorities in her home country. Just amazing. Again, you could not even make this up as satire.
