It’s been a long time coming. In the coming months, I'll be stepping down from my role in PocketMine-MP, and moving on from Minecraft. Read more here: github.com/pmmp/PocketMin…

The negative health effects of working non-stop in the past year to save Hytale, rebuild the team and make plans for the future. Now that the game is financially secured to reach full release (thanks to you!) and plans are in motion, it’s time to reverse the health trend 😅

Sky full of stars. Following a successful lunar flyby, the Artemis II astronauts captured this breathtaking photo of our galaxy, the Milky Way, on April 7, 2026.

Mare Orientale in saturated colour taken by the crew during the flyby. This view was obtained looking almost straight down onto the basin. This must be the most detailed colour view of it ever taken, and many interesting details are visible across it. The central Mare itself shows notable colour variations in its composition. The colours seen here reveal composition. Blue areas mark titanium-rich basalt from ancient volcanic flows, common in the Moon’s maria. Red tones indicate lower titanium but higher iron content, often older lava or volcanic glass deposits. These colours help scientists map the Moon’s geological history and surface chemistry

Ok last one: the rarest solar eclipse of all time. Only 4 people have seen this with their naked eyes. The sun is fully behind the moon. The only faint light hitting the near side is reflecting off of earth, 250,000 miles away. And the stars and galaxies in the background, sheesh Nikon Z9 f/2.0 2 second exposure ISO 1600 @NASA: flickr.com/photos/nasa2ex…

Hello, Moon. It’s great to be back. Here’s a taste of what the Artemis II astronauts photographed during their flight around the Moon. Check out more photos from the mission: nasa.gov/artemis-ii-mul…

Earth, setting beyond the Moon. The Artemis II crew captured this view as they flew around the Moon, a moment that echoes Apollo 8, 58 years later. Image credit: NASA

The eclipse from Orion. On April 6, external cameras attached to the Orion spacecraft's solar array wings captured the Moon backlit by the Sun during a solar eclipse.

@Erdayastronaut What blew my mind is being able to see the atmosphere in the image. Crazy how thin it appears relative to the size of the planet

This photo of Earth is EXTRA spectacular for a good reason... let me explain. Most images you see of Earth from space are the daylight side of the Earth, and it's obviously very bright (see my last image), this means stars are too dim to be seen with that bright exposure setting (low ISO, high shutter and / or stopped down aperture). BUT this image taken by the Orion crew looks so incredible because you can see the sun is BEHIND the earth, meaning it's night time on the side of the earth facing the crew in this image. So how do you expose a night time earth from space? Same way you do on Earth! A mixture of opening up the aperture (F4 in this case), cranking the ISO (51,200 here), and using a relatively long exposure (1/4 of a second). We can see the settings used by looking at the exif data from the camera. What this means is our camera is also sensitive enough to see stars in the background of Earth, leading to an extraordinary image!!! GREAT WORK!!! These are the kind of images I've been so excited to see!

We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.

@slikey @3Yeat3 @Kaupenjoe *By large data I mean individual keys or values being more than a few bytes, not the size of the DB as a whole

@slikey @3Yeat3 @Kaupenjoe I hope you're using BlobDB in RocksDB. RocksDB base is bad for large data because keys and values are stored together, so the I/O penalty during compactions is high. BlobDB mode separates them to avoid this

We are working on integrating the node editor directly into the game to support all platforms and not rely on an external program. Right now the Node Editor is (just like the NPC Editor) a very early workflow demonstration prototype which was never intended for public release. We released it anyway even though it only supports Windows. We are pushing forward on getting that tooling and I hope we can give you an ETA soon for when we expect the first results of our node editor integration will be available.

i was very motivated after seeing all of the amazing worldgenV2 posts i started learning how to make my own project but... @slikey is there any info on when linux will be able to use the node editor? i would love to work on projects and share with the community

A finite state machine with infinite tape is the same as an infinite state machine with finite tape. No, I haven't proven it formally. This is more of a vibe computer science moment. If I'm wrong and someone has actually studied computer science, I would love to learn more!

Uhm, did X get rid of light mode? I woke up this morning and all of a sudden, it is in dark mode and I can’t find the setting to change it. I did not make this change. I know I’m the minority, but I hate dark mode. Is this permanent?

The choices this Labour government has made means inflation has fallen today to its lowest rate in a year. Lower food and petrol prices are helping ease the pressure on household budgets. I know there’s more to do, cutting the cost of living is my number one priority.
