The are several items a person can use besides a passport. Everybody has been provided with these documents.

Actually, that’s not true, and it shows you haven’t read the bill as closely as you think. The SAVE Act does require documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote. That means a passport, birth certificate, naturalization papers, or similar documents. A driver’s license or Real ID alone does not meet that requirement. And here’s the part you’re glossing over, most state voter rolls do not currently contain verified proof of citizenship on file. People registered years or decades ago under systems that did not require those documents to be submitted or stored. So when this law says you must provide documentary proof, that effectively means millions of currently registered voters would have to re-verify, or re-register, with those documents to stay eligible. So yes, for a huge number of Americans, millions, it would mean exactly what was described, digging up a birth certificate or passport just to register or update their registration. You are lying when you say that requirement doesn’t exist, or that it wouldn’t impact millions of voters who have never had to provide those documents before. Not surprising because lying is your brand.

ZERO REASONS TO VOTE FOR THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, as written. State & local govts will spend an estimated hundreds of billions (mostly not supported by the Fed govt) to implement & maintain mandated controls (serious penalties for non-compliance including imprisonment) to mitigate a risk that has historically been proven to essentially not exist …while also making it harder for 10’s of millions to meet the doc requirements to exercise their constitutional right to vote? NO ONE in their right mind or acting in the interest of the vast majority of Americans would vote for that☝️
