New @USCC_GOV report: The U.S. auction-based spectrum system is more flexible and efficient than China's — market dynamics drive innovation in ways Beijing's top-down model can't match. To reclaim America’s wireless leadership, we need to double down on our advantages and move quickly to auction more licensed spectrum. bit.ly/46TqFa5

"Creeping proceduralism" has become a significant threat to democratic governance as people lose faith and governments lose legitimacy from an inability to act. Many causes, but one key problem is the ability of small groups to block things a majority of voters want

CTIA CEO @AjitPai explains, "if you have networks that have been under-invested in, or if you don't have enough spectrum, or if you don't have a framework that incentivizes innovation, you're going to be more of a follower than a leader in AI." fierce-network.com/wireless/mwc-2…

NTIA Assistant Sec. Roth emphasizes economic security and national security are two sides of the same coin--we must auction more spectrum to ensure innovation happens in America. Points to clear, specific auction pipeline in OBBBA as changing the conversation on federal spectrum.

More than ever, America is going wireless. Consider: — Americans used 132T megabytes of data last year, 32T over last year, with data demand now doubling every 2 years. — There are now 579M wireless connections in the U.S., or 1.7 per person. — There were 259M 5G devices in America in 2024, a 43M increase over 2023. — 99% of new home broadband subscribers chose 5G/fixed wireless. — Wireless prices went down last year and smartphone prices have gone down >50%. — Companies invested $29B building, maintaining, and upgrading wireless infrastructure. — 15K new cell towers were activated in 2024. — 2.2T SMS/MMS messages were sent last year, more than any year other than 2020, in COVID's wake. These and other data points in @CTIA's annual survey make clear: good wireless policy both reflects consumer demand and drives consumer benefits. ctia.org/news/2025-annu…
