@nflonly13 @politico The WHCA’s annual dinner is not hosted by the president and does not honor the president — never has. It is a celebration of the First Amendment. Scholarships are given to students. Awards are given to journalists. The president and other admin officials are invited guests.

@StevenOverly @politico Politico should have boycotted this event. The buffoon has constantly called politico journalists biased and fake. He even got them kicked out of the pentagon. Why they would want to be there in the first place is beyond me. Anything for a story I guess.

@Margaret3786 @politico No. All of these reporters and editors were at the dinner, were forced to duck under tables for safety, and then got to a secure room to report and file stories. Get your facts straight before you comment.

@StevenOverly @politico This is the actual press corps, held in a room downstairs from the ballroom where guests were dining. The hard-core case was the journalist in the ballroom reporting on his phone from under the table. He was from @politico, too.
