@BeetfarmerDave Ocean water has a lot of salt in it which makes it quite conductive to electricity. Pouring that on electrical equipment would be very detrimental. Fresh water has little to no salt in it. Pouring fresh water on electrical equipment is far better. I hope this helps.

@KenSchaus If these are younger steers being brought in to a finishing lot missing nearly 50% of tags, I’d say the issue is improper tag placement at the cow-calf operation. We tag at birth and background them to 850 lbs or so. Rarely have to replace a tag.

@steveconaway1 My late (50 years now) grandfather had a fleet of retired Case combines parked in the yard. It seems that when he was done with one he parked it and just bought another one. Farm economics was clearly different then.

I look at old farm equipment rusting away in fence rows and I wonder how more older timers didn’t have even more injuries or deaths with them than they did….

@kowalchukfarms1 On another note, when CBC used to cover the Calgary Stampede, they would cut the broadcast before the end of the Rangeland Derby each day. That was a line crossed IMO.

@LMcLachlan60 @kowalchukfarms1 I’m not part of SM but, when I got my ass handed to me on a plate in the 90’s and early 2000’s, my dairy friends were getting along fairly well. I’ve never begrudged them that. What bothers me is the ignorance of farmers who don’t understand that system and want to tear it down.

@kowalchukfarms1 John. I have come to the conclusion that it hardly makes a difference. The people slamming conventional AG are generally high profile making a living at it. Case in point RFKjr who many farmers helped put into power. I’m afraid it’s a losing battle.

Most consumers don’t know a regular farmer but they might know one of the many who put themselves out there and help tell our stories outside our bubble We need to support those who do a good job of bringing awareness to our industry Not cut them down…

@MarkMytopher @LMcLachlan60 I deposit 2-3 US cheques every year. The money has always been released immediately but it’s only a few hundred dollars each time. Maybe the dollar amount is a factor.

Question for Canadian farmers. Is it common practice that a financial institution holds a cheque from a US company in usd for a month before deposit? #AgTwitter
