@BBCBreakfast We are joining a list of frankly fairly shady authoritarian countries. Is this really what the British people want? Have we ever even been asked?
Labour Digital Rights Network@LabDRN

This is extremely concerning rhetoric. VPNs are vital shields for protecting vulnerable people online and preserving the anonymity of journalists, whistleblowers and activists. Either @leicesterliz does not understand how crucial these privacy tools are, or, more worryingly, she does and is planning on restricting the public's access to them anyway. We cannot allow the government to destroy online anonymity just to prop up their unworkable social media ban.

'We will make further statements in July about VPNs and further restrictions' Technology Secretary Liz Kendall told #BBCBreakfast she will outline more details next month about the social media ban on under 16s in the UK - as well as additional restrictions on Virtual Private Networks, curfews and chatbots bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@BBCBreakfast And yet this piece of work voted to jab kids. Voted in favour of 'certificate of vaccination Id' (COVID) passes. Voted against a national statutory inquiry about the grooming gangs. She doesn't care about kids. Heinous.

@BBCBreakfast She's not qualified in any way shape or form to restrict anything. Neither are the rest of the idiots in parliament. These dangerous fools need to go. Now.

@FringeViews @RogueKite Yes the seed was the iPhone. But if they already know everything about us, why do *they* need digital Id? Why the massive push for it? Why should we empower them further. As for criminal networks, they'll adapt and continue either way, until they threaten the control grid.

@dmw157 @RogueKite I know. But everyone missed their chance to stop it when they made excuse after excuse as to why they needed to own and pay for a smartphone. So, since you're all dragging me into the tech nightmare world, I'd like it to include digital ID so that criminals will think twice.

I really do think people should contemplate why our media wants you getting worked up regarding this subject. The level of detail they could access on us has been known for years. Snowden revealed this decades ago. Obviously the trails and tech have only become more invasive and sophisticated. Is the point to make people think they have anonymity now?

You have never for even one day in your life had actual online anonymity from the US state. Never. If you are on your phone or your computer, they know who you are unless you have a very extensive setup to prevent it.

@FringeViews @RogueKite Digital Id, which this will become, will negatively affect everyone when they implement access control to society with it.

@RogueKite I honestly believe it's the criminal networks which proliferate on the net who are behind this massive psychological push to be paranoid about online ID. They're the only ones that it would truly negatively impact.

@RogueKite Not relevant when their goal is digital Id. They may know everything about us, but they do not have the infrastructure to require digital ID checks at the point of access. For that, they need public approval. They to get that approval by saying it protects kids. It's bullshit.

@nowayjomo @emilyhewertson @lorraine_teuten Sigh. There it is again. Yet another Labour supporter hurling the worn out 'racist' moniker. Thanks to people like you actual racism will make an unwelcome return. How long will this government enquiry last? Years Decades? That 'my dear' is bollocks.

Rupert Lowe promised a Rape Gang Inquiry Report, for every young girl betrayed by decades of state failure. Today, he delivered exactly that; a 200-page dossier exposing the darkest scandal in modern Britain. All while donating his parliamentary salary to charity every month. Whatever your politics, you have to respect that. Rupert Lowe deserves a peerage.

@nowayjomo @emilyhewertson @lorraine_teuten So if it's not 250k what is then? 0? 100? 1000? 10000? 100000? How many is too many before people like you start getting a bit worked up? Yet here you are posting this unsubstantiated shit from 'official bodies', and just conclude it's all bollocks.

@nowayjomo @Georgehstqx @emilyhewertson @lorraine_teuten “The report is widely viewed as politically partisan. It frames the issue almost exclusively through the lens of immigration and race rather than broader institutional failures. The recommendations heavily reflect the ideological manifesto of Lowe's political party”

@DuncanMcFarlan @elonmusk So you've read all 219 pages and you've concluded that it's all bollocks. Can you cite specific parts that are 'bollocks'? Then you engage in whataboutery as if we should just turn a blind eye to it? It is the contents of (or lack of) your cranium that is bollocks pal.

@elonmusk Made up bollocks. Sarah Champion MP already admitted she had no basis for her 100k claim. Many grooming gangs and 85% of paedophile ring members are white. Victims include non-white children and teenagers.

🚨 Only 1 in 6 parents put a social media ban first. More preferred targeted limits on risky features or curfews. Yet Starmer is going all in anyway. Another big Government policy they never clearly put in the manifesto. And here’s the obvious question 👇 How do you ban under-16s from social media without forcing adults into age checks, facial scans or digital ID? Child safety — or digital ID by the back door? 🔐

@jamzefish @statsjamie Sure, they'll use credit cards/passports/driver's licences first. Then people without those will not be able to confirm it so they'll shift to biometrics via the government's One Login. So yes, it will be digital Id.

Maxi - News from Hell...and Europe.
All UK Adults and all visitors to the UK will still be “allowed” (that is the word used in the fine print) to use the platforms… Only once they have: Handed over facial recognition, digital ID, passport, or credit card details to prove they’re not a child. (No details on how this data is secured or protected from misuse or hacking, who is storing it, where, who has access) Step 1: Link your real identity to your location via IP and your speech. Step 2: Police have a lovely searchable database of all data and locations of every UK adult, and what they read, write, view. Every spicy take, meme, cartoon, comment, or political analysis. Step 3: bring in the consequences - arrests, travel ban, debanking, for out-of-bounds speech. This is fascism. The only country that does this is North Korea. Even China doesn't have this level of authoritarian control of it's populace.
