@zarahussain999 I'll safely predict that your response will be to hurl the word 'racist' a millionth time, with a side-dish of whataboutery about all the other filthy white native monsters we have, while failing to acknowledge the victims statements and the horrors they had to endure..

The thing is, the ban doesn't affect adults. So why are adults getting so angry about children being banned from something that any half-decent adult knows is bad for them? Every single adult getting mad about this on Twitter is proof that they themselves aren't affected by it!

I am going to say this bluntly You are a FAILURE as parents if you can't keep you child off social media yourself YOU bought them the phone YOU can confiscate it during homework YOU are the parent, NOT Keir Starmer Authoritarian ban for your "convenience" is not the answer

@CalexOnline @PolitlcsUK Well it's at device level, so will go to Google/Apple, who with their fluid T+C's will share it with 3rd party verification services (eg gov, MC/Visa for cards, or DVLA for DL). Then there will be a breach, so governments solution will be digital Id. After that, everyone.

🚨 NEW: The UK's social media ban for under-16s is set to be enforced at device-level, with Apple and Google forced to verify the age of all users

Today I've agreed with @eucopresident that we will hold the second UK-EU summit on 22 July. My Labour Government is delivering on our promise to reset our relationship and put Britain at the heart of Europe. Together we will tackle the cost of living, boost jobs and create opportunities for young people.

@visegrad24 He’s suing them for calling the racist riot what it was? I thought he believed in free speech 🤷🏻‍♂️

Elon Musk is taking legal action against ZDF, a German public broadcaster, over the network’s coverage of the riots in Belfast. A ZDF presenter said that a racist mob had been “hunting down migrants” and that this had been called for by “tech billionaire Elon Musk.” Musk responded on X, stating, “Legal action is being taken against ZDF for their outrageous lies.” There is no evidence that Musk called for violence against migrants. Instead, he said, “Only by protesting REPEATEDLY and LOUDLY will there be any change!!” The riots started after an asylum seeker attempted to behead a local man in Belfast. The suspect was later identified as Hadi Alodid, from Khartoum, Sudan. Khartoum is currently under the control of the Muslim Brotherhood-backed Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). There is a strong likelihood that Alodid grew up witnessing beheadings before migrating to the UK. The Labour government still doesn’t seem to understand that when people migrate, they don’t automatically discard the cultural and social programming of their home countries.

Action beats despair every time. Here are 3 straightforward steps anyone can start taking this week to improve their privacy and digital sovereignty against UK age verification and device-level scanning: 1. Get your data out of their clouds immediately. Download everything from Google Takeout, iCloud, and OneDrive right now. Save it in cloud services that won't age-gate you and respect your privacy e.g. Proton Drive, or even drives you physically control. Encrypt sensitive folders with free VeraCrypt. Your documents, photos and important files should never be hostage to a company that can lock you out until you scan your face or ID. 2. Reclaim control of your devices. On laptop/desktop: Install Linux Mint (easiest transition, familiar interface, you own the OS and updates). On phone: Use a Google Pixel running GrapheneOS. Their team has explicitly refused to add age verification or force ID checks — that's actual ownership of your hardware. 3. Reduce your dependency. Use a no-logs VPN like Mullvad or Proton + a hardened browser (LibreWolf or Mullvad Browser). Stop making one Apple/Google/Microsoft account the single point of failure for your entire digital life. Start with step 1 this weekend. Small, deliberate moves now prevent waking up one day with your property held ransom. The people pushing this count on learned helplessness. Don't give it to them. This follow-up is designed to give you a quick starter guide and was made with the assistance of Grok, I will always append posts where I use AI with a note making this very clear. Cheers all, and stay safe, you are worth it👍

@MattersInformed They're going to implement on the device itself, so you'll need to do it regardless. We need to get this shit stopped.

@PolitlcsUK It'll become a quagmire, then the solution will be offered. A unique gov issued digital Id that sits in a gov app on your phone. All it will do is show a QR code. That code will be required to be scanned at the point of access, then your social credit will be checked in real time

@PolitlcsUK to decide if you can access that good/service. You'll have no control over that app, you won't be able to uninstall it, and because enough idiots will welcome it, it'll be mainstream enough to require it to access society. If people don't wake up fast, then we truly are fucked.

So then those people who keep their old devices are going to be okay? How are they going to enforce the curfew? What about the use of Laptops or PC's? Okay, this now gets dumber and dumber. I guess the government is trying to head off the Digital ID and other complaints...... It's a ban that's going to be easily bypassed by teenagers in about 2 weeks, and it only kicks in when a phone is updated?

@PolitlcsUK So if I buy a new phone I have to prove my age even if I just want to use it to make calls? Of course, that's because your phone *will become* your digital Id. That was always the case since the iPhone. What did we think the 'i' really stood for?
