Jelsma Field in Guthrie, OK. 275 down the lines with 20 foot wall. Centerfield is also the football field and they play it now without a CF fence...which ends up being about 606ft

Tyrese Haliburton on the moment he realized he wasn’t playing in the Olympics 😭 “We’re in the back doing film and we have the team meeting where we acknowledge that all 12 guys can not play. Steve starts talking everybody can’t play, Bron is talking how he didn’t play in the 04 Olympics that much, Kd is over there saying we’re all 12 all stars, everybody is good. I’m sitting there listening and I’m like yeah. As we start film I’m like, but who are they talking about? I’m looking around like, he’s not talking about him, he’s not talking about him, I’m like ahhh, they talking bout me!” (Via @mindthegamepod)

Tyrese Haliburton gives an update on his Achilles injury “Man I feel really good my body feels good. Just started playing 3-3 and 4-4 full court that’s been good. I’m playing with interns and player development guys and I feel so nice and think I can play in the NBA right now. Then the other day had the low minute guys come in and play with us. So I’m guarding Bennedict Mathurin told him to go at me I’m fine need to see where I’m at. He hesi me one time he was at the rim I was still at the 3 point line. I was like I still got some time” (Via @mindthegamepod)

College coaches aren't watching your kid's batting average they're watching THIS They're watching how she moves. How she loads, controls her body, and works through the ball. Not just swinging moving well under pressure. Recruiting isn't about stats at 12U. It's about movement. The best movers = less to fix in college. The kid hitting .500 because she's bigger? She won't last when velocity and game speed pick up. Movement translates. Results fade. Parents stop worrying about other kids. Stop chasing hits. Stop obsessing over averages. "Home Town Hero Parents" bragging about 11U stats? It doesn't help your kid. Focus on development. Teach them to move well and handle failure. Strike out? Celebrate the movement. Error? Celebrate the rebound. Drills matter. Purpose matters. Ally's working on center mass drills to control the zone. Every rep has a movement purpose. We don't copy social media. We train movement that translates. She's also learning to connect swing to throw, whipping the barrel into a top-hand release. Follow the throw. Whip the shit out of the barrel. Movement first. Mindset second. Hits will come naturally. @PVSbaseball

OF Trevor Condon (@Vol_Baseball) was one of my favorite position players I saw in Jupiter. Collected 7 hits (1 XBH) and 4 RBIs across 5 games. Slightly undersized, but there's some impact (mainly to the pull side) packed into his frame. Wiry, athletic build at 5'11" and 175-lbs. Prototypical top-of-the-order table setter. Explosive and twitchy operation in the box with no-doubt plus bat speed. Feel for the barrel is there, high-level bat-to-ball skills. Controlled the zone well with polished swing decisions in my looks last week. Does tend to hit the ball on the ground, would like to see more line drives. Hit-over-power profile with some PS thump. Gets out of the box unbelievably quick, turned in 70-grade run times. Condon's tantalizing combination of speed and athleticism translates well to centerfield. He can really go and get it and has plenty of range, but if he can shore up his routes (take a more efficient, crisp path to the baseball) he has a chance to become an impact defender. The intangibles with Condon are a nice cherry on top. Advanced baseball sense; stole 2nd on a great dirt ball read, swiped 3rd on a well-executed shuffle lead. Incredibly high motor, plays with his hair on fire. Does not take a pitch off! Always involved, brings the juice! Like the Energizer bunny. Kind of a throwback player in that sense - it's clear he LOVES to play! Think along the lines of Sal Frelick/Slater de Brun (SDB better defender at this point with more of a physical, barrel-chested look). Top 2-3 round type for me this July.

I recently read about man who collects pictures of hitters who had hit walk-off home runs. He said that the reason he did this is because this is how he views us entering heaven. Look at the faces of his teammates waiting to welcome him home. Look at their excitement. They can’t wait to celebrate with him. Look at the fans. Arms raised, big smiles, maybe even hugs for a perfect stranger. Perhaps this is your first holiday season without someone important who is now waiting for you in heaven. Maybe it’s just another one with that big hole in your heart and an empty seat at the table. Either way, I hope you can find encouragement in this picture, what it represented to the man who collected it, and find joy this year. #heaven #hope #joy #grief
