I did not have people arguing with me on Twitter against evidence based pap screening on my bingo card today. Why do people get so mad when they are told it’s appropriate to wait til 21 for a pap??? Why do people want unnecessary tests??? Whyyyyyyy????

@DrJenGunter It blows my mind that people are anything but amazed and grateful that we have formula - this amazing nutrition for babies that can’t have breastmilk for whatever reason, that keeps them not just alive but healthy and let’s them thrive. It’s just so incredibly dumb.

If you are gonna tell me that formula is “lesser” I am going to fucking come at you. Breastfeeding is hard. Lots of people have work that makes pumping really hard. And some of us had no option because we had no milk to give. Pumping while septic is a challenge.

@vasisht The Oregon Medical Board has very specific language about not prescribing for yourself. Probably wouldn't be an issue but not worth my license.

I hate pulling the doctor card, but dear office MA responding to MyChart messages, no, no, I do not need to make an appointment for my PCP to prescribe me ondansetron for my upcoming international travel.

I'm up a solid 15 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight & instead of hating myself till I fit in my old clothes I went and bought myself some new, larger jeans yesterday and I'm proud of myself for doing that.

TMI warning: ex of doctors being terrible patients- I have cellulitis & an abscess on my leg & my husband walked in the bathroom while I was expressing pus from the wound & screamed "OMFG you need to go to the hospital" & I was like, "nah it's draining nicely & Ive seen worse."

making small talk with an employee in CVS and when I told him I was a toxicologist he literally took a step back???? WE TOXICOLOGISTS ARE NICE OMG I PROMISE😭

@DGlaucomflecken I’m so proud to work for a provider owned group that refuses to sell to a private entity or even local hospital group. It won’t last forever in this horrible health care climate, but they will fight tooth and nail for it.

Every physician who sells their practice to private equity is choosing to make health care worse for everybody. I hope the money helps you sleep at night, because you have made life worse for every single patient and employee walking into your PE Daddy’s practice.

@SaraIdaKrueger1 @localav0cado What credentials do you have to claim this? Palpations are a symptom, not an EKG finding. A normal EKG doesn’t mean you can’t have a heart attack later.

brb arguing with my NP about them forcing an EKG on me for adderall refill when there is no evidence to suggest the necessity of it without a suggestion of history of cardiac disease

@blondemedSJW @DuchessSexpert It’s definitely important to not push ableist ideas into GOC conversations - disability =\= poor quality of life. Ask what is important to individuals in their lives. Be realistic about what CPR looks like and when we do it (I often use the phrase “mostly dead”).

So I just saw someone say that having end of life discussions, ie DNR/DNI, comfort care, is ableist? This country as a whole does not understand what cardiac arrest means, what CPR entails. We need more education about this.

@Anna_G_Downs Life gets SO MUCH BETTER. It takes time to learn how to be a grown up doc without someone always telling you what to do but once you settle in it’s really a cool place to be
