I'm re-reading THE NIGHT CIRCUS (first re-read, so it has been about a decade) and two things jump out at me. One, it still absolutely rocks. Two, I did not realize how deeply this book wound its way into my psyche -- so many things I've written are directly grown from this book.

I wish that every person who likes Martin McDonagh would read a Kevin Barry novel, or even some of his short stories.
