Lagos isn't even the most dangerous city in Nigeria so how can it be 28th on this list
What happened to Sokoto

According to World Bank data (sourced from UNODC):
- South Africa: 44 intentional homicides per 100,000 people (2022)
- Nigeria: 16 per 100,000 (2023)
Recent South African estimates for 2024/25 are around 45 per 100,000. Nigeria's figures may vary due to reporting differences, with some sources citing 21-22 in earlier years. Population size affects total numbers.

@owoatiswizzii @TheYorubaTimes Can you remind me where the financier and coordinator are from?
English

@TheYorubaTimes It’s an Hausa-Fulani-Nupe Coup. Let’s group them together like the like to do. It’s a North Central Coup.

EXCLUSIVE: Colonel Alhassan Ma'aji, a 49-year-old Nupe Officer, Masterminded Failed Coup Plot Against Tinubu — Timipre Sylva Funded Plot with Nearly ₦1 Billion
The alleged plot to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s government was orchestrated by Colonel Alhassan Ma’aji (Service No: N/10668), a Nupe native from Niger State who began his military training in 1995. Investigative sources reveal the coup was originally scheduled for May 29, 2023, inauguration day, but was suspended due to lack of funds and logistics.
The plotters revived their scheme in 2025 after former Bayelsa State Governor Timipre Sylva allegedly transferred nearly ₦1 billion in multiple installments to three bank accounts linked to a Bureau De Change operator. Sylva, who was later declared wanted by the EFCC and had his home raided by soldiers, is accused of being the chief financier of the failed takeover.
This revelation follows Monday’s confirmation by the Defence Headquarters that officers implicated in the coup plot will face military court martial.

@Sodiq99157987 @forallcurious It isn’t the country producing that but men like you. Same with other countries. What innovation are you working on Sodiq?

@forallcurious Nigeria has the most universities in west Africa, yet nothing to show of it. we are in a zoo.

The core revenue stream is interest on lending. Banks take in deposits at relatively low interest rates and lend that money out as mortgages, personal loans, credit cards, and business finance at higher rates. The Nigerian system hasn’t reached that level of depth or revenue sophistication due to structural, regulatory and economic constraints.
English

For over 4 years , I am still wondering how banks in the UK make profit from customers, unlike the confusing bank charges in some certain countries like Nigeria and co.
No stamp duty, no debit alert fees , no VAT charges of 7.5%.
I use my ATM (master cards) with different banks I don’t bank with, no charges, my ATM has never been missing in an ATM machine before.
Not a single charges has been deducted in my bank account since I came to UK.

@Algeria_FC Replace banter with Football and Nigeria with Algeria in your last sentence, that’s exactly how you exposed yourself to other countries. “Football with Algerians on the other hand is just .. sad. Angry, aggressive, zero wit, zero humour”. Move on, probably others will forget.

@deenayaah @Evansprosper6 That’s more of a loyalty than integrity . Committed to the team, but missed an opportunity to truly champion Lamumba’s “United Africa” through football. The DRC players will all leave for Europe once they touch down DRC.
English

@Riches_come @Algeria_FC @grok as per the South African Institute of International Affairs, what was Nigeria’s total contribution to Nelson Mandela, the African National Congress (ANC), and the broader anti-apartheid struggle from 1960-1995?
English

@Algeria_FC No, Algeria did nothing for him, it's was Nigeria that single handedly gave him all.
English

Are you talking about the same Nelson Mandela who did his military training in Algeria? The same Nelson Mandela Algeria provided weapons to to help free South Africa? The same Nelson Mandela we named a stadium after? The same Nelson Mandela we paid tribute to in a friendly match?

Tharman@TharciMG
@Algeria_FC Your players would've probably mocked Mandela.

@Northerner0 The tradition of Almajiri system should be abolished! It has encourage useless and irresponsible men to give birth like rabbits and push little children to the streets to be fed on alms. I wonder what the child protection laws are in Nigeria.

Arewa used to be strong because of three main things.
1. Politics
2. Religion
3. Tradition
But now Tradition is broken, leaders are fighting, and they even threatened the Sultan of Sokoto earlier this year.
Religion is fighting itself (Muslims groups are fighting each other).
We're losing influence in politics, our people aren't getting important positions.
We have lost our respect, we have lost our voice, we can't speak up anymore.
Arewa youth, elders, everyone, WAKE UP!
The things our ancestors fought for are disappearing.
If we don't fix things now, there won't be anything left for the future.

@jrnaib2 @officialABAT What did Badaru achieved previously that he was appointed to man such a position? You guys are beyond redemption

@officialABAT But, what exactly did Christopher Musa achieve as CDS that now makes him Nigeria’s security messiah?
English

Two days ago, I transmitted the name of General Christopher G. Musa, our immediate past Chief of Defence Staff and a fine gentleman, to the Nigerian Senate for confirmation as the Federal Minister of Defence.
I want to commend the Nigerian Senate for its expedited confirmation of General Musa yesterday. His appointment comes at a critical juncture in our lives as a Nation.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
