It is as impossible to demonise @AnneTwino as it is impossible to cleanse Katungi. With inspiring courage & incorruptibility, Anne uprooted a deep-seated system of corruption, neglect & abuse at Makerere University, cleaning up the @eashighered. Conversely, I have been to Kajansi Police to demand the release of people Katungi detained over claims of environmental degradation that would be laughable if they were not so baseless & disgusting! She will reign him in, whatever his gimmicks. Jude Ssempebwa.

1. Thread: The heroic anti-corruption Deputy Inspector General of government is under attack by well connected security operative and alleged torture master! For everyone who's concerned about fighting corruption we must be aware of the emerging attack on miss Ann muhairwe. She first came to my attention when she prepared the courageous report which showed that the administration of Kampala city Council was guilty of criminal neglect and liable for prosecution. Now this is the kind of stuff that doesn't usually happen with very well connected people. Ann has developed a reputation since her appointment as a fearless fighter against corruption in the public sphere. Many people in the city know her as one of the few individuals who will not take a bribe. You can ask any journalist in Kampala city and they will tell you that this is the one bright star who gives encouragement to many of the Young generation leaders. Ann is no nonsense and she does not take bribes. She fights corruption with integrity and honesty. And of course for this she's hated by some. People like them are known to be persecuted suffer legal harassment and sometimes their lives at risk because of standing against people's corrupt ways.

Today I received Prof. Stefan Lang from the University of Strasbourg, Secretary General of the CIVIS Group of European universities. We discussed opportunities for enhancing collaboration between University of Strasbourg, Makerere University and CIVIS, particularly on PhD training.
