@johnvoelcker #1/2 It just means they don't test other vehicles with over 10k lbs. GVW. So they never planned to test this one. I think it's why so many of today's new EV trucks that compete with 1/2-ton "personal pickups" are rated at 3/4 tons-beyond just how much weight the batteries add. T

@johnvoelcker I will just say, as a regular churchgoer, that it is and always had been many people's primary face-to-face social network -- as it still is mine. Whether the rise of online social networking or the decline of churchgoing started the trend, they do feed of our each other. #1/2

@johnvoelcker PHEV's are underrated, but do require some knowledge and engagement with driving which Americans apparently have no aptitude nor desire for. :(

This. So MUCH this. I have asked every OEM at every PHEV drive to share their data on plugging-in behavior of their buyers. Some never thought it was important enough to collect. Others have it + just refuse to share. I can only conclude they run as #hybrid vehicles, not an #EV.

@johnvoelcker It is depressing. Our "new" PHEV may have only ~12 miles of EV range, but 4 days a week I charge it twice at home and get more than 24 miles a day. Outside NYC, it's not notably cheaper than gas, but still so much nicer!

@Dunne_ZoZoGo AND ... GM's "valued partners," their independently owned + operated franchised dealerships, had better be able to explain the hell out of it ... and do so for EVERY #EV customer. Thus far it remains unclear they can even explain the basics of EV charging, let alone this. T.B.D.

I understand GM's reasoning for this, but question whether it will stand. Google Maps is presently lousy for useful #EV charging station info, but I have to think a huge number of GM buyers use these features. It could well keep me from buying a GM EV. reuters.com/technology/gm-…
