This was a miscommunication in the dugout with Brazoban, Carlos Mendoza said.
Once the Mets took the lead, Devin Williams was supposed to enter for the save situation. Brazoban was going to go back out if the game stayed tied.
Once Brazoban went out and crossed the foul line, he had to stay in the game and start the inning. That’s when the umpires told Devin he had to retreat to the bullpen.

Not sure I’ve ever seen this before. Citi Field played Devin Williams’ entrance song. He started jogging in from the bullpen for a save situation. But Huascar Brazoban also came out of the dugout and took the mound. Williams had to walk all the way back to the bullpen…
