Over a hundred young star clusters near to the Sun can be traced back to just *three* distinct star-forming regions. This is a *huge* result for studying our own galaxy! The work is out today in Nature, led by Cameren Swiggum in Vienna: arxiv.org/abs/2406.06510

This week I added a second zoomed in 1 kpc 3D map using @emilydoesastro's very latest cluster catalog and the ability to display labels on a corresponding top down 2D map (as adding readable labels directly on a 3D map is difficult). (2/3)

Our galaxy's young star clusters now have accurately measured masses, radii, and classifications! My new paper out today uses a new method to distinguish between bound and unbound clusters, improving the usability of the cluster census and setting new observational constraints.
