As I read people’s off the cuff immediate reactions to PoE 2. Two things pop into my head. Do people not investigate the games they’re purchasing anymore? Am I too frugal that I make sure to know exactly what I’m getting into before I buy a game?

@adhdjesse People praise my work and I think, “but I did it at the last minute and it didn’t take that much time. In fact I kinda half assed it.” But I’m forgetting the 10+ years of experience and projects and work that made it so I could do that.

Imposter Syndrome is compounded for people with ADHD because we often can’t remember most of our successes. Even the ones we do remember, we often dismiss and discount them by comparing them to our biggest failures.

@Willjum1 If it’s not available then shops and drones should be settings for admins and then server finding should be better. So you can easily see what servers cater to sweats vs casuals.

The thing non-ADHD people don’t understand is that “wanting” to do something is a biological process. Wanting is a system that functions normally in neurotypical people and abnormally in ADHD people. I can hyperfocus when my brain lets me. I can’t force it. It just happens.

@EstebanSterle Well, hold on, I'm not gonna say that. I obviously am very critical of what he's done here and I think a lot of the AI crowd is not great for creative culture, but I know nothing about him personally, I have no reason to think he's, y'know, evil or anything.

Maybe hot take: Of course it's helpful when people buy games on launch, but it should not feel like a responsibility for the players. People do what they want with their own money. If the studio fails, that's on the studio, not the players.
