How is privacy implemented in Miden? @0xMiden implements privacy through a combination of architectural choices and cryptographic techniques, primarily leveraging zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs and offchain data storage. Here’s a breakdown of how privacy is achieved in Miden: 1. Zero-Knowledge Proofs • Local Execution & Proofs: Users execute and prove transactions locally on their devices. Only the proof of the transaction (not the transaction details) is submitted to the network. This means the network can verify the validity of a transaction without seeing its contents. • No Need for Transparency: Unlike traditional blockchains where all data must be public for verification, Miden’s ZK proofs allow for private verification. 2. Offchain Data Storage • Commitments Onchain: Instead of storing all account and note data onchain, Miden stores only cryptographic commitments to this data. The actual data can be kept offchain by users. • Three Storage Options: Users can choose to store their account and note data: •Publicly (onchain, no privacy) • Encrypted (onchain, only visible to those with the key) • Offchain (network only sees a commitment, highest privacy and scalability) 3. Accounts and Notes • Private Accounts & Notes: The operator tracks only commitments to account and note data. Users are responsible for managing their own state and sharing note details via side channels if needed. • Public Accounts & Notes: For those who prefer, full data can be stored onchain, but this sacrifices privacy. 4. Nullifiers and Consumption Tracking • Nullifiers: Every note has a unique nullifier indicating whether it has been consumed. For public notes, observers can see when a note is consumed and by whom. For private/offchain notes, only commitments and possibly masked sender information are visible, making it infeasible for outsiders to link transactions. 5. Privacy Levels Miden defines privacy on a continuum: • No Privacy: All data is public. • Web2-like Privacy: Only participants and operators see transaction details. • Strong Privacy: Only participants see transaction details. • Absolute Privacy: No party has full visibility into transaction data. Miden aims for strong to absolute privacy, especially as the protocol matures. 6. Remaining Challenges • Operator Knowledge: In early versions, operators may see transaction data (“privacy training wheels”). The goal is to eventually remove this requirement. • Offchain State Management: Users must securely manage their offchain data. 7. Private Smart Contracts • Turing-Complete Private Contracts: Miden supports private, Turing-complete smart contracts executed locally, so code, state, and interactions remain hidden from the network @azeemk @zkGaylord @schmiddominik1 @bobbin

Polygon Miden is a ZK-rollup designed for high-throughput, private applications. Unlike standard rollups, @0xMiden uses Client-Side Proving execution happens on your device, not on-chain. Here is your 2-minute guide to the Testnet:👇 1️⃣ Set Up Your Wallet To interact with Miden, you need a compatible wallet that supports ZK proofs and Miden’s unique account model. • Install the Miden Wallet Extension tinyurl.com/3hndsh9z • This is currently the main interface for the testnet 2️⃣ Get Testnet Tokens (Faucet) We need tokens to test transactions and dApps • Visit the Miden Faucet (faucet.testnet.miden.io) • Connect your wallet • Mint tokens using “Mint Public Note” or “Create Faucet” 3️⃣ Explore the Ecosystem The testnet already has a few alpha dApps you can try: • Register your name on Miden Name Service: miden.name • Trade demo assets on ZoroSwap: app.zoroswap.com • Make private transfers using Dome: dome.cash Great way to understand how private notes + accounts work in practice. 4️⃣ For Developers (Building on Miden) If you want to build apps or smart contracts: • Miden Playground → write & test Miden Assembly in your browser (playground.miden.xyz) • Rust support (WIP) → upcoming smart contract development • TypeScript SDK → integrate Miden features into web apps • Check GitHub for miden-node and miden-compiler (github.com/0xMiden) 5️⃣ Key Features to Test • Private Notes Assets move as notes. Recipients must “consume” them to update balances. • Client-Side Proving Execution + proofs happen locally → better privacy. • Parallel Execution Transactions don’t fight over global state → higher throughput than Ethereum-style chains. 6⃣What’s Next? Miden is a core piece of the @0xPolygon AggLayer. Testing now puts you ahead of the curve for the 2026 Mainnet roadmap. @azeemk @zkGaylord @schmiddominik1 @bobbinth

if you got a good airdrop from zama you might want to pay attention to multiplifi + they recently crossed over $200m in tvl and remember that: > they raised over $20m > also building the infrastructure that makes tokenized stocks productive > you can earn yields on your stables multiplifi is gud tek
