@BriannaWu Star Trek is an excellent vehicle for Liberalism but not leftist thought. Liberalism can encompass many different points of view but holds equality at its core. The US has twisted the term liberal to the point of incoherence.

I’m going to probably regret saying this. But while it’s true Star Trek has a lot of liberal themes, there are also conservative ones. Liberals don’t own Star Trek. Religion is a MASSIVE theme for Star Trek. So is military service, duty and sacrifice. There are so many episodes that are about finding meaning in tradition and cultural heritage. To me, this is what makes Star Trek interesting. How do all have these different ideas and still work together to achieve great things? The fundamental message of Star Trek is respect. To my liberal friends acting like you own the show? I think you are the ones that missed the core message of Star Trek.
