Players with Dorofeyev's archetype in the model (D-1 equivalency in the 20s and DY equivalency in the 40s) make the NHL about 89% of the time and often turn into a very productive players. Getting this type of player in the 3rd round probably shouldn't be possible.

Remarkable Dorofeyev is just 25Y old. 35 goals last year for Vegas, 37 this year with 6 already in the playoffs. And he’s an RFA this summer. 💰

@MarkMassa22 Alan Shaikhlislamov profiles pretty similar and he's not going to get drafted until at least the 3rd round. All the other ones that are in the ballpark will go relatively early.

@ByronMBader No. Whats crazy is watching almost a carbon copy of him go 43rd only 2 years later while lane had played 2 games and absolutely did not look out of Place in those 2 games. Cole hutson was basically a guerenteed slam dunk and some teams passed twice.

Should have easily been the 4th or 5th dman taken at that draft. NHL drafting be wild sometimes.

The more I watch Lane Hutson the more remarkable it is that he was the 62nd player selected at 2022 NHL Draft and the 18th defenceman. #Habs

Ryan Roobroeck had an extremely productive D-1 (33 equivalency - top 1%) but then fell back into the 20s in his DY. Maybe doesn't seem like a big deal and its pretty rare but no CHL F who has done that has ever made it to 200 games in the NHL. Don't love that.

This is kind of wild...
Markus Ruck had 87 assists this year. (Hes the playmaker, Liam is the trigger man it would appear).
Since 1990, a skater has registered 85+ assists in their draft year in the CHL only 10 times. Last one to do it was 2005... Crosby.
That's a ludicrous amount of apples to put up in one season of junior!
