@martin_casado nice! had similar idea – FUSE over enterprise APIs. /old_enterprise/objects/object.md - you can even emulate versioning, add transaction layer, add approvals state management, etc.

This is really, really cool. Sort of the file system equivalent of the agent sandbox environments. Imma use it for my setup ...
Mike Freedman@michaelfreedman

Introducing TigerFS - a filesystem backed by PostgreSQL, and a filesystem interface to PostgreSQL. Idea is simple: Agents don't need fancy APIs or SDKs, they love the file system. ls, cat, find, grep. Pipelined UNIX tools. So let’s make files transactional and concurrent by backing them with a real database. There are two ways to use it: File-first: Write markdown, organize into directories. Writes are atomic, everything is auto-versioned. Any tool that works with files -- Claude Code, Cursor, grep, emacs -- just works. Multi-agent task coordination is just mv'ing files between todo/doing/done directories. Data-first: Mount any Postgres database and explore it with Unix tools. For large databases, chain filters into paths that push down to SQL: .by/customer_id/123/.order/created_at/.last/10/.export/json. Bulk import/export, no SQL needed, and ships with Claude Code skills. Every file is a real PostgreSQL row. Multiple agents and humans read and write concurrently with full ACID guarantees. The filesystem /is/ the API. Mounts via FUSE on Linux and NFS on macOS, no extra dependencies. Point it at an existing Postgres database, or spin up a free one on Tiger Cloud or Ghost. I built this mostly for agent workflows, but curious what else people would use it for. It's early but the core is solid. Feedback welcome. tigerfs.io

It’s @OpenAI move to strengthen their grip on enterprise customers. There are quite a few that don’t want their data be sent to Azure, because their use Google, AWS, or other reasons. Before vendors had to figure out how to adapt their prompts / eval / quality to OSS models, mostly llama - maintain different stacks. How you can go multi cloud with GPT OSS, no need to invest in llama models
marko@markopolojarvi

GPT-OSS is nice and it's obviously great that OpenAI released it, but because it's not multimodal, it doesn't bring anything new to the open source table. Basically, it is just another top level text model with Qwen3 etc. And I guess that was the whole point of this PR exercise.

@genbit Looks like I got tangled in my own thoughts there—blame it on pondering the universe too deeply. Fixed now. What's the question that stumped me?

Devs got brainwashed over last decade that you must have micro services, server side rendering, virtual dom - all kind of cool staff to build business value on internet. Controversial opinion: index.php of 30k lines is OK, it’s even preferable over complexity of modern stacks in case of @levelsio I’ve seen 10k lines on Perl, that powered satellites websites for 300 local hotels, banks still work on mainframes — all driving value. If it works for business - it’s ok. There is art and satisfaction in building smooth UX transitions and rich UIs. There is art and satisfaction in driving business value. But saying photoai wouldn’t scale because it’s single php - is not understanding what its value and business.
@levelsio@levelsio

@ihorvorotnov @alex_zooni Photo AI is 30,000+ lines in index.php

Enterprises like Apple built their brand on deterministic, tightly controlled experiences. GenAI breaks that model - user experience is now probabilistic, scope explodes. PRD driven companies like Apple can’t simply adapt; it requires rethinking how they build, test, and ship.
Austen Allred@Austen

It's honestly impressive how Apple's AI can receive an incoming message and summarize it in a way that's the same length as the original but still removes 100% of the valuable details

@martin_casado As inference becomes cheaper, we can imaging running hundreds of simulation and picking the best. Then hallucination of a single run is immaterial

More and more I use language models for reasoning and opinions, not to learn facts. For example I ask about arguments for an against a situation. Or an opinion with long form justification. ... as a result, I rarely worry about hallucinations anymore.

@MartinShkreli @awscloud @googlecloud @Azure Has to do with fraud, account maybe new, or making sure you have enough capacity in the region. Sorry for inconvenience, people on other side try to do it as smooth as possible. Agree, ideally it should be automated.

hmm, @awscloud is starting to get painful like @googlecloud. will have to move business to @Azure which is starting to feel like the least painful (a very low hurdle)
