I was really not at all prepared for how much singing would be involved in being a parent. The only way to stop my baby crying in the car is to loudly sing nursery rhymes at him. I only remember two: Old MacDonald and The Wheels on the Bus. So I sing them in a constant loop.

@Inferis @Finnattentive @ErynnBrook agreed. some workarounds...use a short cycle and use that time do another task. don't stop until cycle finished. cycle acts as your timer. put in dryer at night so you can walk away from it and go to bed.

@Finnattentive @ErynnBrook For me, the problem with laundry is that it has too much friction: all of the steps along the way do not require immediate attention after they are done and as such are an excellent moment to stall the process.

ADHD brains: share with me what laundry is like for you? What’s your process? How do you feel about it? What makes it better/worse? The advice I can apply is limited as we don’t have in-unit laundry. But I also have an odd mental map of how people do laundry.
