@getindico Hi. I'm installing Indico 3.3.5 and from the official documentation, it is not working at all. Tried checking around other websites with no success. Kindly assist as it is a non profit project I'm setting up.

@HEPfeickert @UN Yep, probably one of the biggest instances next to our CERN one - and certainly the most exotic one one when it comes to doing creative things with Indico it was never designed for! ;)

@CERN Thanks for the share! 💙 If you'd like to follow the project, we're (occasionally) tweeting on @getindico; and if you love the anniversary artwork as much as we do, check out the artist @JenniferCham / @sketchomics who made it!

Whether you are a fully fledged dev or an event manager who likes user-friendly computing tools, you can become part of the Indico community by contributing - not only with code: github.com/indico/indico/… In case you didn't know: Indico is a @CERN-born 100% #opensource project.

@PKoppenburg @BoringQuark The hint now appears 10 times before it goes away (unless you click the hat first, then it does away immediately)

@getindico @BoringQuark OK. Didn't need to do that. Thanks to @boringquark - I hadn't taken the word "hat" literally. I think the main issue is that the animation comes over and over again, but the hint only comes once (at least for me). So if you miss it you have no clue where to click.

The animation for the 20th aniversary of @getindico was quite fun to see on the 43 first indico pages I opened. But now it's getting slightly predictable.

@PKoppenburg @BoringQuark Do you have any browser extensions blocking localStorage? In any case, try `localStorage.setItem('bday-theme-disabled', true);` in the JS console (or check w/ devtools if it's set to something - in which case the animation should already be disabled)

@PKoppenburg @pietrovischia And yes it's the default because it's the most privacy-friendly version. For meetings the default is "always visible" because they typically have no public registration anyway but a participant list managed by the organizer.

@PKoppenburg @pietrovischia Sorry for the last reply, didn't notice it until now. For "Conference"-type events the default is "hidden" when creating the regform, it's up to the creator to change it to consent or always visible (the latter fits well if you have claim legitimate interest for it).

This thing of private list of participants or no online list of participants should end here. Come on, conferences exist with the purpose of talking with colleagues, if you don't know who'll be there how the hell are you supposed to know if you are interested in being there?

We're taking indico.cern.ch down for DB maintenance, should last about 30 minutes. Enjoy your hopefully work-free sunday! :)

@uebmaster Not sure if you are the same user as in github.com/indico/indico-…, but in any case the answer is "you don't". TLS should be terminated outside the containers. Use X-Forwarded-Proto etc. to indicate to the application running inside that the connection is coming over https.

@HEPfeickert What causes you to (accidentally) email people twice? Would be good to know if there's something wrong with our UI there!

One day I will email all workshop participants through @getindico correctly on the first try. One day. Until then they will continue to start with "Apologies if you received this email twice".

@freyablekman FWIW, the "1-millionth meeting" was more about 1M active (non-deleted) meetings - we already reached ID 1000000 about 2 years ago

@getindico Also, just for fun I checked meeting 1000000. It's not a CMS (or a publicly accessible) meeting :)

Indico has been instrumental in the Higgs boson discovery. And I do not even want to imagine the number of flights it saved because of facilitating efficient and remote meetings, years before the pandemic. Congrats @getindico on the millionth meeting (also: #toomanymeetings!)
CERN@CERN

Indico (@getindico) has now been used to organise over one million events at CERN! Last week, representatives of CERN, @UNGeneva, & others met to discuss the growth of this free and #OpenSource platform created at CERN. 🔗home.cern/news/news/comp… #CERNimpact #SDGs #FOSS
