@Mhoni_Hiyst i know, that position needs improvement in my opinion, but i doubt it's a priority. besides, i think they're asking for 40-50 million for just a spot on the pitch.

it's difficult because it depends on what scaloni wants to do. i'm sure messi will play, and they'll need that defensive approach and work ethic from simeone. i see nico paz taking on Messi's role when messi is on the bench; it doesn't work to have nico paz and messi at the same time.

@stopthatmessiii i think any team that plays against real madrid goes in with fear, not of real madrid itself, but of the referees who officiate the match

@exfootballfan sure, because he presses more, because he helps to track back and defend better, because he puts in more effort. the guy does some things well when he has the ball, and sometimes...

@iFCBellissimo in short, these are people who don't watch football, pedri has multiple masterclasses. when you rate a midfielder, you have to watch the matches. pedri's importance lies in that phase of control, creation, intelligence, etc. these people only focus on goals and assists.

You guys are embarrassing, it's not even funny. He had a historic Euro campaign at 17. If this isn't a rage baiting you should leave football and don't waste your time.

Pedri definitely has lowest standards of our players. has been 6 years here and i cant recall a iconic el clasico or ucl ko game vs good opponent or euro/wc. People love to call out FDJ but pedri isnt any different for now. Atletico is a huge test since he loves to play them

pedri is too insane man. he plays at such a high level so consistency that once he finally has a drop in form everyone has to get out all of their most ridiculous takes

@LY5224 my god, just watch the euro 2020 matches between spain vs. croatia and italy, and you'll see what pedri is all about. seriously, do i have to tell you about more matches? you need to watch a lot more football; that's why these kinds of opinions are garbage.

@BarcaTimes @ffpolo he must be that "new" piece in the system; he's working so well that he should be a starter for this part of the season. with lewy being a great impact substitute in the final minutes.

Red Bull Racing Technical Director Pierre Waché is reportedly under pressure after consecutive 'failures' from mid 2024 to the present season. Both Isack Hadjar and Max Verstappen have complained about aerodynamical imbalance on the RB22 while praising the Power Unit's performance! 📰 @GPblog_com 📸 @redbullracing Content Pool

Under different names, the image of the first play is seen far too often: Olmo and Pedri covering that central midfielder, creating a 2v1 even when it's not necessary. Knowing that the right-back is then free to attack and create a 2v1 against the left-back. Defending in a mid-block is too difficult for them.

Barcelona out of possession is vulnerable. Notably, it's due to the high position of the wingers. Against Atlético, it was a forced situation (through baiting) or just because of the narrow position of Barcelona's block. And in both cases, Atlético Madrid benefited from that, because Simeone relies a lot on wide combinations. You would see the fullbacks push on to join the wingers, swap positions, and overload Barcelona fullbacks. And that forces the midfielders to shift across and do the wingers' job. Even if the lateral shift is on time, the central space in front of the backline is free to be exploited. If not, the ball-side fullback & winger take advantage of that wide numerical edge via overlaps or underlaps. So, there are two cases here. One of them would get in behind into crossing situations, or that off-ball run distracts Barcelona's fullback and gives space for the ball holder to release runners through the gaps across Barcelona's backline (Griezmann famous chance).

Many underestimate Guardiola's achievement in taking over that golden generation, but... He took over a dysfunctional team, with Ronaldinho, Deco, and other players who were underperforming, a Messi constantly getting injured, no development for Iniesta, a team that had just given Real Madrid a guard of honor—remember that. It wasn't easy. Having a generation of talent is one thing, but making it work like Pep did is another.

📌🗣️Sorry guys, but I really need someone to explain what’s going on here… When Pep Guardiola took over the club, he had arguably the best team in the club’s history — and even in football history: Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Samuel Eto’o, Thierry Henry, and many more — yet he reached 300 goals in 123 matches. Even Luis Enrique, when he took over, had the best attacking trio in the world (MSN), and still reached 300 goals in 107 matches. So how did Hansi Flick reach 300 goals in 107 matches with a squad that lacks depth, is full of injuries, and includes a striker like Ferran Torres — and even Robert Lewandowski who’s no longer at his peak? What’s even crazier is that he took over the team while it was already struggling. What Flick is doing honestly deserves recognition and praise every single day ❤️💙

this is very well explained. another "problem" i see is the formation itself during defensive transitions and cover, since these players aren't able to cover all the spaces when the opponent attacks. there are times when the team is left exposed. that's why i insist that a pure 4-3-3 would be even better to provide better balance in defense and more control in attack. at some point, i'd like to see that attacking trio of: De Jong Pedri - Gavi with gavi contributing to the high press, defensive transition, and providing support to the other two in defense
