The United States of America must always be prepared to use overwhelming military force when necessary to defend our national security interests and protect Americans at home and abroad. And, a President should have the latitude to make decisions to that end, but only to the extent that those decisions are also consistent with the inherent authority of a Commander-in-Chief under the U. S. Constitution and the provisions of the War Powers Resolution. To date, I have supported the President’s decisions relating to the Iranian conflict because they were consistent with these authorities and the ultimate goal of protecting national security interests. At the same time, what sets America apart is not only our strength, but how we use it. Our nation has always conducted military operations for just causes and through just and moral means. This must continue in the future; otherwise we forfeit our legitimacy to lead the world. So, let me be clear: I do not support the destruction of a "whole civilization." That is not who we are, and it is not consistent with the principles that have long guided America.  I have and will continue to support a strong national defense—one that is focused, disciplined, and firmly rooted in protecting the safety and security of the American people. But, how we protect the lives of the innocent is just as important as how we engage the enemy. America is great because America is good.

The US couldn’t replace it anywhere in the world. 2. Every US military operation in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia flows through Ramstein. Lose it and US power projection in the Eastern Hemisphere is crippled. 3. The UK provides and maintains RAF Lakenheath used almost entirely by the US Air Force. Italy provides Aviano. Greece provides Souda Bay. Turkey provides Incirlik. European land. European infrastructure. American operations. 4. The US Sixth Fleet depends entirely on European ports for fuel and supplies. Souda Bay, Naples, 11 Greek ports. Without them the Sixth Fleet cannot operate in the Mediterranean or project power into the Middle East. 5. The majority of NATO’s intelligence and surveillance capacity is hosted on European soil and fed directly to the CIA, NSA and Pentagon. 6. Early warning radar at Fylingdales, UK. Missile tracking in Greenland. Norwegian monitoring stations near Russia. All dependent on European goodwill. 7. It would cost America MORE to bring the troops home than keep them here. European hosts subsidise roughly a third of all basing costs. 8. Europe is America’s largest arms customer. Stop buying American and part of their defence industry goes bankrupt. 9. 🚨 ATTENTION Military Personnel Under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and the Manual for Courts-Martial Article 92, there is NO LEGAL CONSEQUENCE OR IMPACT on an individual service member’s duty to obey lawful orders and DISOBEY UNLAWFUL ORDERS. Presidential immunity does not transfigure an unlawful act into one that must be obeyed upon penalty of court-martial. Under U.S. Army Regulation 190-8, Section 1-5(b) it states: "Following superior orders will not be accepted as a defense if the accused knew or should have known that the act ordered was unlawful." Field Manual 27-10, The Law of Land Warfare, Paragraph 509 states: "The fact that a person acted pursuant to order of his Government or of a superior does not relieve him from responsibility under international law, provided a moral choice was in fact possible to him." Department of Defense Law of War Manual Section 18.6.1 states: "Members of the armed forces are bound to obey only lawful orders. An order that violates the law of war is unlawful and must not be obeyed." Department of Defense Law of War Manual Section 18.22.4 states: "Acting Pursuant to Orders Does Not Relieve a Person of Responsibility: The fact that a person acted pursuant to orders of his or her Government or of a superior does not relieve that person from responsibility under international law, provided it was possible in fact for that person to make a moral choice." 5 U.S.C. §2302(b)(9)(D) - makes it ILLEGAL to remove a civil servant "for refusing to obey an order that would require the individual to violate a law." This provision was enacted as part of the Whistleblower Protection Act, in order to protect "the right of American citizens to a law-abiding government." We currently have a rogue, lawless, corrupt, fascist dictator, self proclaimed "king" sitting in the White House. It is YOUR duty - as members of the United States Military - to uphold your oath to the United States Constitution, and your oath to defend this country against domestic enemies. @JimHansonDC U.S. service members take an oath to uphold the Constitution. In addition, under Article 92 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and the U.S. Manual for Courts-Martial, service members must obey lawful orders and disobey unlawful orders.

It IS NOT a war crime to strike infrastructure used by enemy forces even power plants and bridges. It IS a federal crime to tell military members to disobey orders to conduct those strikes.
