The American dream shouldn’t be out of reach 🏠 H. Res. 1299, an amended version of the Senate-passed 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, just passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support. This is real legislation that cuts red tape, boosts housing supply, and pushes back on institutional investors driving up prices. The Senate must act NOW!

Before Congress, I was a county judge in East Texas. Victims of these scams walk in the front door of their local police departments — they need to be met by someone who understands this crime and can help recover their assets. Local law enforcement is stepping up. Congress needs to back them up with the tools and resources to fight back.

Americans lost at least $10 billion last year to cyber scam operations run by Chinese organized crime — factory-sized compounds staffed by trafficked workers using AI to steal everything victims have. Writing on the walls of these compounds: "There's not a single person who can't be scammed. They just haven't seen the right script at the right moment."

Through the Working Families Tax Cuts, Republicans delivered immediate and lasting relief for working families by making the successful 2017 Trump tax cuts permanent. This locks in lower tax rates for every American, expands the standard deduction, and increases the Child Tax Credit to $2,200 per child - helping hardworking families have more financial security and higher take home pay.

The Chinese Communist Party continues to imprison individuals for exercising basic political and religious freedoms. Yesterday, the House passed a bipartisan resolution urging @POTUS to prioritize the release of prisoners of conscience in future engagements with Xi Jinping. The resolution calls for the release of Jimmy Lai, Gulshan Abbas, Jin Mingri, Gao Quanfu, and Pang Yu, and demands proof of life, legal counsel, family communication, and medical care. America must continue to stand firmly for human dignity and religious liberty.

Under the Biden Administration, Texas paid $11 billion because the federal government failed to secure the border. That can never happen again. The Texas GOP Caucus is backing @RepArrington's House Resolution 50—legislation that affirms states' constitutional right to defend themselves when Washington won't act. This is far from an isolated case—there have been more than 60 documented cases of Chinese espionage or repression on U.S. soil since 2021. We must remain aggressive in rooting out this kind of influence.
