How is polar bear habitat in Hudson Bay this year? Bad. Red/pink is missing ice. Last week was 20% ice cover & the median is >50%. Polar bears move ashore at ice cover <50% but our tracking data suggests the bears are hanging on to the last ice longer than they used to.

@Todd_Friesen MB Marathon should consider moving the starting time--like 6 am as you suggest--or moving race date in order to alleviate the risk if high temps on participants. I'm sure last year's fiasco is still in the minds of most runners.

@MrJoeMilliano @rjallain Thanks Joe. Now I wonder *if* the E field created by a pt charge followed an inverse (but not square) law, would opposing lines of charges create a uniform field? A good chance to use code to test.

@gregspeiser @rjallain The field between two lines of charge would not be uniform in a 2D space, assuming the electric field due to a point charge still follows an inverse square law. Very roughly, you need square plates to cancel inverse square dropping off of the field strength.
