Griffon Vulture (Gyps fulvus) in Sierra Espuña Natural Park, Murcia, Spain, earlier today. This species had almost disappeared from this area but is now breeding here again thanks to conservation efforts. This site is designated as a Special Protection Area (SPA) under the EU Birds Directive.

I see that govt is once again spreading that old myth "This government has secured £104 billion of private sector investment to improve our water infrastructure nationwide." Patently, blatantly and demonstrably untrue. 1. Water companies submitted their draft business plans to @Ofwat 9 MONTHS BEFORE THE ELECTION on 2nd Oct 2023. It was those business plans that included £96 billion of so called investment. It was then for Ofwat to scrutinise, review and approved the final versions of those plans. It was that review process which borough the total spend up to £104 billion. Nothing whatsoever to do with govt. 2. Nor is there any "private sector investment" it's coming straight out of your pocket, that's why water bills have gone up on average by 36% this year. Once again nothing whatsoever to do with govt. No doubt ministers will be keen to set the record straight.
