@davidhogg111 How did one young man get so smart? Oh wait…I remember now. Let’s follow his lead and let the lessons he learned through his trauma inform us all.
I’ve been extremely hesitant to say this because I don’t want to see it happen but I feel like I have to- let me be clear I’m not an expert but I’m deeply worried we could be on the edge of something far worse happening than we’ve already seen. I’m worried it will if we don’t act
@clhubes That Mom at the park probably doesn't even know that the "Alphabet Song," "Twinkle, Twinkle...," and "Baa , Baa, Black Sheep" are the same melody!
She probably only knows this version: youtu.be/NO-ecxHEPqI
People of DC big news! Today after a dream of 30 years I’m announcing we will open @bazaarbyjose in the Old Post Office! Building longer tables in the heart of our nation’s capital, welcoming people from across the city & the world🙏 I’ll share more soon.. @WaldorfAstoria@cgi_mg
@SeanDeMarzo1@hodgetwins Elementary schools should not HAVE to be fortresses; they do not NEED to be…unless we value unfettered access to certain guns over common sense & safety. It is a CHOICE.
@hodgetwins Criminals will get guns if they really want them, period. It's up to these school districts to implement strong countermeasures to protect students and faculty. Local Govt should stop playing politics and get with the program
@hodgetwins I am not even sure how much more wrong you can be on this. You must not have seen the same video that I did. Watch it again with your eyes and ears wide-open.
Beto O'Rourke disrupted Greg Abbott's press conference regarding the school shooting in Texas. He is there for one reason. And it’s not for kids. He is running for Governor, it’s free advertising. Beto is a disgusting man! The Sheriff is right, he is a "sick son of a bitch."
We grieve for the 21 who were killed in Texas today. But grieving is not enough—we could have, and must now, take commonsense actions to prevent these tragedies, like establishing single points of entry into schools, armed guards, trained staff, mental health services & more
@davidhogg111 I look forward to the day when an endorsement, contribution or “good report card” from the NRA is the kiss of death for a candidate’s campaign…
"We can't stop bad people from doing bad things," says @KenPaxtonTX on @FoxNews. "We can potentially arm and prepare and train teachers and other administrators to respond quickly. That, in my opinion, is the best answer." #UvaldeSchoolShooting#Texas
Two students are reported to have been killed and 13 others injured in a shooting that apparently began close to an elementary school in Uvalde, #Texas. news4sanantonio.com/news/local/ale…
Easy access to guns is a problem. Lack of background checks is a problem. Lack of mental health checks is a problem. Elected officials beholden to the @NRA is a problem. They need to go. Everything else needs reform. This isn’t about compromise. It’s about action right now.
Heidi & I are fervently lifting up in prayer the children and families in the horrific shooting in Uvalde.
We are in close contact with local officials, but the precise details are still unfolding.
Thank you to heroic law enforcement & first responders for acting so swiftly.
These are elementary school children who woke up this morning. Who ate their favorite cereal. Who tied their shoes in double knots. Who laughed with friends on the bus. Now more than a dozen are dead. This isn’t normal. It doesn’t have to be this way. It can’t keep being this way
@BMC24k@OmarJimenez Wrong. And starting today I’m going to stop scrolling by comments like this, acting like they’re OK. That’s how we got where we are. That’s why those children are dead.
@OmarJimenez People are gonna use this like most shootings that happen as a way to attack people who support the 2nd amendment & guns in general but what they don't seem to understand is Bad People will do bad things regardless of the laws/restrictions they will find a way to get weapons etc.
Two are dead, over a dozen injured, after a shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital tells CNN. The hospital's received 13 children at their facility who were being treated for varying injuries. Suspect is in custody.
