One of the closely contested local races was in #Marikina City, a Congresswoman vs. Congresswoman battle for Mayor. Maan Teodoro nearly swept all barangays against Stella Quimbo. Teodoro won her own district by 18 pts and carried Quimbo's district by a narrower margin of 6 pts.

In the heart of Camarines Sur, the Naga-anchored district voted for Aquino and Pangilinan by majorities of 59% and 52%. By coalition: 🟪LP/KaNP 2 + Ind,PLM 2 🟦Alyansa 6 + Ind 1 🟥PDP 1 Robredo repped this district to the House in 2013-2016 before being elected Vice President.

Electoral History🗺️ Ramon Magsaysay, the seventh President of the Philippines, was born in Iba, Zambales, on this day in 1907. In 1953, DefSec Magsaysay won the Presidency after defeating incumbent President Elpidio Quirino, who was seeking a second full term, by a landslide.

Electoral History🗺️ On this day in 1878, Sergio Osmeña was born in Cebu during the Spanish rule. Osmeña would later become the 3rd Governor of Cebu, the 1st Speaker of the House, Senate President pro tempore, the 1st Vice President, and the 4th President of the Commonwealth.

The Cordilleras may be diverse, but their provinces have relatively smaller populations, which would result in at-large districts only. However, this might be useful when redrawing provincial legislatures, as provinces with lone CDs are given two districts in their local legis.

Here's the winner by Barangay map🗺️ Marcos only won one barangay, while Escudero carried some Danao barangays. Although Robredo carried a supermajority, urban areas that voted for Cayetano brought the margin down. #Cebu

Map Drop🗺️ The 2016 VP race in #Cebu was closer than the Presidential result. Then-Congresswoman Robredo harnessed admin support in rural areas, winning by a 21-pt margin. However, Duterte's running mate, Sen. Cayetano, won the metro by a single point. Sen. Marcos was locked out.

How did overseas Filipinos voted?🌎 Re-electionist Bong Go was the leading candidate in most of Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Bam Aquino was ahead in the United States, Australia and parts of Europe. Turnout* was over 350,000, about the same as the totals in Aklan province.
