Why I'm not a DRep anymore, by Johnny Kelly: Once I was asked to critically read and critique ~195 Proposals, Submitted Ad-Hoc, and try to make a *truly informed* Yes/No decision on whether or not they should receive funding. Even in working areas in which I have absolutely no formal experience. I Retired as a DRep. It felt like the only honest option for me. Anything else would have felt like misrepresenting my level of expertise/understanding in certain aspects of the Ecosystem (e.g. Marketing) or not being honest about how much time I'd *really* spent reading over *every* Proposal's content. I would have been fine with having a say in what the overall list of *Work Items* to be *fulfilled* were, with that fulfilment then being worked out via specialised Groups collaborating alongside any ADA Community Member who wanted to contribute their experience and understanding towards Awarding final Funding Allocations. I *wasn't* fine with having to weigh in on Full Allocation of Funding to Vendors across multiple aspects of Ecosystem Development and Support all in one go (in 12 days), without being able to have a say in the actual *Work Items* to be fulfilled in the first place (yes there was the Roadmap Vote, but it was superceded by what actually happened next). We were going to have a formalised and structured Budget to be systematically worked at one point. It got replaced with a free-for-all ad-hoc submissions process. Once that happened, I was out.

(Released Today) A digital commodity is an asset that derives its value from the programmatic operation of a functional crypto system, not from the expectation of profits driven by the efforts of others. ADA is listed alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum under that classification.

Just a quick update. Mum's been out of Hospital for a couple of weeks now. I'm still not back in Spaces though, due to helping Mum with doing her daily Physio Exercises to get back both her leg strength (she was off her feet for over 6 weeks) and reduce the stiffness in her broken shoulder while it's healing. The cool thing here is, I didn't have to ask permission, I just joined an epochs end space, was listening to random discussion on the side, had a few Saturday night beers whilst watching the brits, and gave myself a challenge. This is another reason why I love Cardano, there is so much opportunity and passion shines through.

Just sucessfully bridged USDC → USDCx from Ethereum to Cardano without using the IOG UI, just raw smart contract calls from my own code. 12 USDC in, 12 USDCx out, ~25 min, zero fees. On-chain tag itsdave_ada embedded as proof. Firstly, I'd like to say.. credit to IOG and all involved, this shows it's completely open and anybody can do this. Secondly it took a few attempts, and thirdly, lets celebrate USDCx on Cardano, there's been a lot of drama but also it's evident a lot of hard work has gone into this.
