surely no one wants ashton to resign over such a minor thing, will set the club back miles after everything we’ve built move on man jesus

Nigel Farage’s visit to Ipswich Town this week has sparked a major backlash. Fans have accused the club of allowing itself to be used for political purposes, but there is also internal dissent at the club’s handling of the affair. The Athletic can now reveal that the club’s depiction of the visit, as presented to both staff and media, is being heavily disputed. This is the inside story of a chaotic 72 hours. 📝 @Dan_Sheldon_ 🔗 nyti.ms/3Pxq08A

I think this is one is on McKenna. Why did we have to wait until 65 mins to change things? Why can't we *ever* change the system and add an extra midfielder when we need it?! #itfc

I don’t normally do it for opposition players. But had to give him a standing ovation when he came on and I sang his name. He is still a strong physical player, although that was a bit naughty on O’Shea, but I’ll always be a big fan of Sinclair Armstrong

Ordinarily when ex-players return I say we've moved on Fuck em.
But Tuesday is no ordinary player.
The 💙 of the team who never took a backward step from the moment he walked into PR.
Our 🇪🇬👑 & my favourite player of last 25 yrs.

@HDavies1804 @ethanITFC Normally agree with you Harvey but the lack of a proper captain is one of our biggest issues for me
English

@ethanITFC Think that's the least of our issues to be honest. Very basic defensive errors should never happen regardless who's got the armband
English

Four right backs, one left back, no natural Matusiwa cover, spending £11m on McAteer and loaning out Ogbene, no natural Chaplin replacement, the list goes on.
The squad balance is all over the place. Team of individuals currently who'll be fortunate to make the play-offs.

@Thomas_Lane11 @HDavies1804 @KrisOReilly2 Ask Burnley fans what they thought of him? I see what you are saying but not for me
English

@itfcben7 @HDavies1804 @KrisOReilly2 I mean, we signed him after two seasons of 35+ games in the Premier League, so yeah, he was a Premier League defender when we signed him. He’s the only player in the squad signed based off two consecutive premier league seasons
English

Genuinely can't get over how poor our defending continues to be, we're so easy to score against. Even the first half they should have scored from the corner.
Not just blaming the centre backs either, our whole defensive unit are an absolute shambles currently.
Worrying.

@Thomas_Lane11 @HDavies1804 @KrisOReilly2 If you ever thought dos was a pl footballer I’m not sure football is for you
English

@HDavies1804 @KrisOReilly2 We’ve turned a Premier League defender and a championship TOTY defender into shells of themselves. Two years ago they were well coached. Guess that’s the problem now, same for all the other players who’s careers are regressing in front of us

@LesMuttons Calling someone a cunt because we aren’t very good at set pieces is interesting stuff

“He just feels very Ipswich to me; it’s intangible, I don’t know what that means, but he just feels like the perfect fit for this football club and everything it embodies.”
A summer of change for Town, but their biggest asset remains.

@HDavies1804 If szmodics is fit I think he starts for his off the ball work, has been wearing that boot all season between games as a precaution so don’t think it’s anything major
