@tehmie_ I left banking for consulting. But I think your focus should be on the career path you're looking to build, not the industry. For example, a salesman might be better off in a bank.

Many years ago, in GTBank training school. We were 40 in my cohort – a mix of First Class, 2:1, and 2:2 graduates from Nigerian and foreign universities. Everyone that knows Banking knows how intense and competitive GTbank training school is. 4 months of rigorous training and examinations. At the end, the valedictorian – the best among us was not a First Class graduate or 2:1. She was a 2:2 graduate from OAU. She scored over 90% btw.

I was explaining this recently to someone. So let me just say this for those earning 1M+ from a 9-5. Your salary is too valuable to be funding your daily life. That’s the mistake. You need a separate engine for that. Put aside 3–4 months of your salary and build a simple, boring business, car wash, barbing salon, shawarma spot, wholesale drinks. The goal is not to “blow” or “scale” the business. It’s just to cover your living expenses so your salary stops carrying that burden. Once your survival is handled by cashflow, your salary becomes a weapon. Now you can deploy it into long-term plays. Investments, assets, high leverage bets. You stop thinking month to month and start thinking in years. That’s how people quietly build real wealth.

There were people who trekked from Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way to Allen; some trekked from Customs to Opebi. You want to know why? Because President Bola Tinubu was commissioning a bridge built by Babajide Sanwo-Olu. A bridge. A common bridge was why taxpayers suffered for hours. Every now and then, you see signs that many of the people in governance are tone-deaf, with scant understanding of the essence of governance: the people. You built a bridge for the people; why suffer them first before letting them use it? Why do we need a president and commander-in-chief of the armed forces to open a bridge? And why does this have to be done at the expense of public comfort? Who did this to us as a people?

Whether she's begging or not isn't your business, support if you can and move on if you can't. She's made progress, even if the building isn't finished, so either celebrate her or just look away. It would have okay to do her content in the incompleted house, and who ever is touched to help can help. But boldly asking for help over your choice is unreasonable.

This women didn't come out to ask for help concerning any health issues or any form of emergency. But for the comfort ofputting their own home in order when she and her family solely made the choice to move in

@AustineAluge1 @BolanleCole Define bitter. You actually need to get well by enabling this behavior. A lot of Nigerians need help in one way or the other, if we all come out like this, who will help you who? Its okay for someone to reach out, and decide to help instead of her asking.

We've been praying for this country forever, but it just keeps getting worse every day. I don't even know, man. At this point, prayer alone isn't enough, something drastic needs to happen.
