I’m the type that doesn’t like going home during holidays, so I usually stay back in school. Where I was staying then was a four-flat compound, one occupied by an Alfa, some indigenes n, and the last one by us, students. We were three in the flat. One holiday, my flat mates had travelled, so I was the only one left, and nobody really knew I was around. One morning, after washing my clothes and spreading them outside, I saw the Alfa. He called me and said He wants to see me, and I was surprised, but I went to meet him. When I got there, he started asking me questions, my name, my birth month, if I was in a relationship. I already knew the direction he was going, so I gave him a wrong birth month. At that time, I was engaged, so I told him that. He said I should give him his information but I didn’t. Then he started asking about my mum’s name, and I refused. I told him there are some personal things I cannot share. He said he had seen something and needed the information to explain it, but I told him if there was anything, he should just say it without asking for my details. He kept talking, saying different things, trying to get information from me. While he was talking he mentioned a friend of mine and ask how close we were, It was then that I found out he had already spoken to one of my friends when I travelled. She gave him a lot of personal information her parents’ names, her boyfriend’s name, and more that one no sabi their ways, he started saying things about her, even claiming they were compatible, calling her fire and himself water. This person you are talking about that you are compatible is practicing another religion and you yourself is married (covered with Jilbab). At that point, I understood what he was doing, trying to use people’s information to appear like he knew things. But because I’ve seen things like this before, I didn’t give him any information. Immediately I left, I called my dad and told him everything. He warned me to be very careful, even about things like spreading clothes outside. Since then, I’ve kept my distance from him. He knew I changed because I don’t even give him attention till I finish from school .
