Cult heroes are usually cult heroes because they are a bit shit but they give absolutely everything or they add some comedy value. Biscan, Traore and Klavan were probably cult heroes. Federico Chiesa is just a class player who recovered badly from an injury. His fitness was managed poorly by both himself and his old club. He joined one of the most intense teams in the most intense league, with zero match fitness. Of course he wasn’t going to perform. His best years probably aren’t ahead of him because his best was world class, but it is foolish to judge his level on what he produced in his first season at Liverpool. Chiesa is a fan favourite, but he is also a very very good player.
