Delusional to think that American respect for Britishness is something King Charles of all people can trade on when Americans are staging explicit 'No Kings' protests at home, because their president loves the idea of having power and privilege independent of the people's choice. Men probably should have just paid more attention in GCSE English

Not just “novels” but perhaps THE most famous opening sentence of any novel. Up there with “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.”

@MerrynSW It'll be a case of one buying for the other, if not for both. At which point any enforcement will have to come from you as a parent. I don't see how this ban will have the desired impact. Every young person has a friend at least one year older than them.

One of my kids will be allowed to buy cigarettes. One will not. Am going to very much enjoy watching this being enforced over the next few decades. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
