When she begged me to let her be homeschooled for high school I refused. I was worried she’d hide out in her bedroom all day and get weird. I had been a public school teacher and advocate. I wasn’t a homeschool parent. After watching yet another blood-boiling, unproductive virtual school board meeting in February 2021, I agreed to let her try it. I was nervous. I didn’t know it then, but she had already reached out to a neighbor (via snail mail) about helping out with her horses and had big plans for the future. My daughter graduated almost a year early from high school, had lots of time to earn money to pay for a car and dog, and plenty of opportunities learn more about her hobby. Today, she’s the proud owner of these guys with quite a following on TikTok (over 50k) where she shares the day-to-day routine of caring for animals. I’m not saying homeschooling is for everyone, but I encourage parents not to be too quick to dismiss the opportunities that it might open up for their children that the traditional path may not.

The mortgage on our home is interest-only. Why? Because it’s much smarter to invest that principal instead of paying it back to myself every month. Unless you need a forced savings account to protect yourself from yourself, OR You don’t have good investment opportunities, an interest-only mortgage is a no-brainer. It’s actually not even close.

As someone who is inactive, essentially left the LDS church, considering a return but would be a long journey back: Really wish there was more prominent apologists that took things head on like Jacob Hanson and Hayden Carrol growing up.

Listening to what her needs are is YOU building a bridge for her to walk across. It is you inviting her back to the palace of commitment. Try the book The Love Dare and follow it strictly. Humility will do two things, prepare you for her coming back into the vow and prepare YOU for the alternative if that is what happens. Either way you worked on YOU and come out a better person.

Last year, I was the victim of adultery. All I can say is is that it was a struggle to stay alive. And it was a struggle to not put the other guy in the hospital. I have the sweetest, most talented kids. I know my presence in the home blesses their lives. But living in a home with my wife, who still desires the other guy, kills me. It truly kills me. I really don’t know what to do. Do I suffer for the sake of my kids and have a “roommate” for a wife? Or do I start over, with the hopes that one day, I can marry someone who actually likes me?
