Last Saturday, July 5, had 13 mass shootings (4+ shot, either injured or killed, based on the Gun Violence Archive data). It is likely that many involved July 4th gatherings that spilled past midnight. This is the second most of any date since January 2013. The only date with more was 7/5/2020, which was a Sunday, with 15—although 10 of these occurred between 12 AM and 3 AM, most likely spillovers from July 4th evening gatherings. Now, from 2013 to the present, these three dates have the most mass shootings: 5-Jul 74 4-Jul 71 1-Jan 38 @northeastern
