@KarenSoutar1 Would’ve been completely fine with it after the 2nd outing but in his 3rd he actually went out and threw strikes and only gave up a single. Weathering the first two then sending him down after he looked decent wouldn’t make sense. Short leash though

@ashesofacacia @extrastats @CodifyBaseball If it was agreed upon as the best way to implement a new rule? If players on both sides of the field agree to how it should be done who are we to be yelling about it? If it doesn’t work as intended they revisit it in a year or two it’s pretty simple

Tell me the one thing you'd change about the ABS Challenge System.

@extrastats @CodifyBaseball The players had input on that and I think it was the low breaking balls that could clip the front that were the problem even though they’re technically strikes in the rule book

@CodifyBaseball Doesn’t ABS currently measure the strike zone from the middle of the plate? It should be measuring from the very front of the plate

@CodifyBaseball 3 overturned calls and the umpire is kicked out from behind the plate. (Kidding)

@TodayJays @SIASport Yes. Here is where I want the analytics department involved. You tell me the % odds of someone having a terrible playoffs like last year and a terrible start to this year becoming a top notch reliever again. My guess is the odds are extremely poor.

@RobWong34 If you get a truly awful call the difference between 1-0 and 0-1 is still big enough to use it. But it has to be an egregious call not an “I think”

@kathypom54 @SophieShipton_ He wants to be here, he’s still good and the Jays want/need him. This feels like a deal both sides want to get done.

@SophieShipton_ I can't see us not doing it. He plans to continue playing so it only makes sense. The only thing is if there's a lockout next year. He'll be 2 years older in 2028 and may change his mind about playing.

@FredKrueger27 @JesseBlake He let up a single, they intentionally walked Goodman to create a force and because he’s their best hitter. Getting a bunt, a K and a ground ball after a single is a solid inning.

@jaystalk89 @JesseBlake He walked a guy and gave up a single in his single inning of work. I'd like one clean inning before saying solid.

@Woll4Vezina Every team in the division will lose multiple series like this. We will for sure get beat again this year by a bottom dwelling team.

In the grand scheme of things you can’t really say it’s a disgraceful loss 6 games in but with how well they played vs Oakland and how close the division is likely going to be, these games could very well haunt us later in the season. Incredibly disappointing. Rebound Friday

@CakeMcJabe It feels like I’ve watched Okamoto strike out 7 times with bases loaded this year 😆 (and I still think he’s been great overall)

It's weird how it feels like the Jays have been striking out a lot more than last year only to look and see their K% is only 0.5% higher and still best in the league

@fdmj22 @killer_40 @JohnnyGiunta_ Yes, a single scored a runner who started at 2B through no fault of Littles? Completely different than allowing a single and having it come around to score. The irony in your name calling…

@Damon98_ @JohnnyGiunta_ Sure the offence could have brought in more runs But are you guys confident in Little being a consistent reliever for the @BlueJays ?? You think he’s gonna turn it around and become lights out ??

If this goes sideways just remember the Blue Jays lineup mustered one single run over 9 innings against the Colorado Rockies pitching staff before you unload on Brendon Little!

@cwillaert @coachball71 It’s the same difference. They throw harder because they’re incentivized to throw harder at the expense of in most cases command, pitch count, arm longevity etc. There’s a lot more training for the radar gun than hitting quadrants of the strike zone
