Once upon a time, this was our deal. Late nights in the cage, solving the problems of the world, just the kid and me. Been a long time since I got to throw him BP. Thanks to a snow day, Buster and I got a little father and son cage time. This is the tail end of around 120 cuts.

Around here, opportunities to drill outside in early January are pretty rare. We took full advantage today.

It has been an abysmal start to the ice fishing season in terms of weather and ice. Fishable ice in the Black Hills has been very, very hard to find. I’m hoping for a change to the pattern that helps us build more ice. I have managed to catch a couple of nice fish though.

It was a good finish to the open water season. But, the kayak is officially stored for the winter and it’s time to get ready for some ice fishing.
