Shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday, units were dispatched to the Rapid City Regional Airport for a reported single-engine aircraft incident. All individuals on board were able to safely exit the aircraft, and no injuries were reported. There was no fire associated with the incident.

Join us in celebrating the newest members of the RCFD as they take part in their graduation run on Friday, May 1, at 9 a.m. The graduation run will begin at Fire Station 1, travel down Main Street, across Seventh Street, and return to Station 1 on St. Joseph St.

It was a tough morning at the training grounds for our RCFD Cadets and they showed up ready to work. Today’s drills focused on essential fireground skills: forcible entry, search, victim removal, fire attack, flowing water while moving, and ventilation.

Did you know? Safe Haven Baby Boxes have saved over 200 newborns from abandonment since 2017, offering desperate parents a silent, secure way to surrender their infants at fire stations or hospitals. I am proud that Rapid City is the first to install the Safe Haven Baby Box in the state of South Dakota. It is located at Fire Station 1 downtown. When this idea was brought to our folks at @RapidCityFire, they were eager to help. Grateful to see this come to life.

Congratulations to Tiffany Pascua, the newest member of the Rapid City Fire Department! She was sworn in and received her badge today. She will serve in an EMS-only role, supporting our community through emergency medical services. Please join us in welcoming Tiffany to the team.
