In Oregon, Democrats have a shot at supermajorities in both legislative chambers. They've got the Senate. In the House, it comes down to one seat—and they're still curing ballots. Democrat Lesly Muñoz has a tiny lead over Rep. Tracy Cramer. On Nov 15, just 34 votes. Now ~123.

Since the election, the percentage of Republicans who say that they're financially worse off than they were a year ago is down by 15 points lmao

Some pundits would rather revive old grievances than do any self-reflection. After VP Harris’s loss, we should be talking about how we bring people *into* our coalition, not who we kick to the curb.

Publicly demanding a cover up of a Republican-led ethics investigation into the Attorney General nominee doesn’t suggest much confidence that it will exonerate Gaetz
Annie Grayer@AnnieGrayerCNN

NEW : Mike Johnson urges Ethics panel to not release report on Matt Gaetz, an unprecedented move since investigation is supposed to be separate from speaker’s office “I’m going to strongly request that the Ethics Committee not issue the report" Johnson tells @alisonkmain

Look at this graph and explain to me why you think I should read this as a measure of consumer confidence rather than partisanship.

Harris lost all seven swing states, but in five of them - Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Wisconsin - she's ending up with more raw votes than Biden got in 2020. If you still think all those swing state mail votes in 2020 were fake, idk what to tell you.

3) whether a minimum number of Rs actually fights this, to stay in session, to limit recesses to 3 days, or to challenge Trump in court if he claims they are in disagreement when they are simply in the middle of common back and forth between the chambers

2) whether, if that doesn’t happen, they, or the House alone, conspire to manufacture “disagreement,” voluntarily letting Trump take away the power the constitutional gave the legislative branch, or

@AJentleson You mean they occur once every three days, for a few minutes (they don’t last 3 days)

For recess appointments to happen, the Senate has to be in recess. For a decade or so, the Senate has not been going into recess when it adjourns but pro forma sessions, which can last up to 3 days. Long story, it goes back to Rs blocking Obama from doing recess appointments. 3/

A quick 🧵 on what seems to be Trump's plan to obliterate the Senate's advise and consent responsibility so that he can recess appoint his cabinet, or at least those members who lack the votes to get confirmed by the Senate. 1/
