At an event today and was reminded by a good presenter that 49 stocks accounted for half the wealth created in the last 100yrs. And the vast majoirty of stocks underperform treasuries. Problem is no one knows this ahead of time = strong case for cap wgt index

Nice look at the correlation between passive ownership of a stock and performance from @JSeyff today.. but bf you get all 'see, the tail is wagging the dog!' the real reason this corr exists is passive only has high ownership of stocks ACTIVE LOVES. and Vice-versa. Active determines the holdings and the weight of cap-weighted index funds. Ironic but true.

@FrankCappelleri It took me awhile to realize that sunk cost maybe recovered faster in a better trade. I ask would I still buy that position at that price?

The market is less than 5% (3% for equal weight Nasdaq) from retracing the entire Trump term and put us negative since Jan 20th 2025. We had the biggest technological revolution, inflation coming down, more peace than ever... Then Tariffs and now War. Unreal performance for such a rich environment in terms of potential. USA could have been the absolute leader in 2-3 technologies at the same time with most of the world as allies and growing at mid to high single digits.
