155 episodes in, still aggressively changing Gamified. new rules = 1. we will go around the horn first for 1-3 word answers before the debate - e.g. - Bullish or Bullshit, Sentiment Score, Over / Under, or What’s the Word? this allows us to know off the bat who will be taking opposing sides of the argument and avoid too many agreeing responses in a row. 2. Timer is expanding to 90 seconds so there is a little more room to cook. after 90 seconds it goes red and goes negative so people can dunk on you for how far over you went. 3. No need to force a take on every topic. i will no longer go to everyone (except for the opening sentiment score or w/e) unless they have strong takes. 4. We want more disagreement, interruption, and genuine back-and-forth, and a little less polite turn-taking. I'll be moderating in a way that incentivizes that going forward. I've got a dozen more changes written down, they'll be implemented over time until I'm satisfied with the product. And we made it. Through top streamers, we put a web3 game in front of hundreds of millions — doing more for this space than anyone. Off The Grid today is not just part of web3 gaming — it defines it, whether some people like it or not. Being named Web3 Game of the Year two years in a row. Today there is a new narrative from haters — that Gunzilla incorrectly laid off contractors or paid them with delays. For those of us on the recruiting front, the effects of this have been pretty evident for a few months. Crypto teams are optimizing for candidates w/ enterprise, B2B, demand gen, growth and product marketing experience. i.e. people who are technical, data driven marketers that build brands by working across content, comms, strategy etc (and who leverage AI tooling) are in high demand. Edge cases aside, social, community, dev rel and other hype driven marketing roles are almost non-existent.
