Question: Mainoo x Ugarte doesn’t work. Mainoo x Casemiro doesn’t work. Mainoo x Anderson doesn’t work. Mainoo x Rice didn’t work. At what point do we start asking if Mainoo is part of the issue?

Ole Gunnar Solskjær had an 80% win rate in his first 10 games as interim. The players looked reborn, like something had been unleashed. But that era also fed into what we still suffer from today: player power and Player FC. Ole knew the club inside out, just like Carrick does. Both club legends. And Carrick has followed a similar pattern. he’s come in and immediately given players freedom to play what they know. Short term, it works. But there’s a problem: there’s no clear structure. No consistent patterns of play. It’s football off instinct, vibes and inshallah. That’s not sustainable long term. Unless that changes, the early warning signs are already there, reduced training intensity, poor minute management, and injuries creeping back in. I get the optimism, I really do. But the concerns are still very real. While All of you seem to be sold of the Carrick idea, there are huge issues to be addressed.

The Apple Maps turnaround is impressive. ▫️iPhone started with Google Maps ▫️broke up after Google withheld voice-guided navigation (competitive advantage for Android) ▫️in 2012, started using TomTom data but sucked so bad Tim Cook apologized ▫️now spent billions mapping >4 million miles of proprietary street level maps data with specialized vans and people wearing goofy Apple backpack cameras walking around town (see below) Google probably makes $15B-20B on advertising in Maps. Apple’s services revenue is $100B+ in 2025 and Maps ads help push the services narrative (especially as Apple slowly forced to reduce App Store fees).

@Loeya I pay for Fortnite crew for myself & my son. I play with 1 skin. This is the sign for me to cancel both of them. Skins in the battle pass haven’t been great for a long time & the reduced vbucks doesn’t make it worthwhile. The extra’s provided with Fortnite crew aren’t great.

Changing the battepass in Fortnite to be 800 v-bucks and only get 800 upon completion is the most disappointing change I’ve seen since playing the game since 2018. I can’t believe their timing on announcing the news either.. The season has been dragged on and players are unhappy and they figured that now’s a great time to announce price changes.. I hope they understand why the community is upset. Make more worthwile collabs (with in game weapons etc) instead of showing them down our throats, it’s hard to have sympathy for the “cost of fortnite” going up when they decide to pay for 1837639 collabs in a season and creative is full of AI slop that they pay the creators for. Anyways sorry about the long message, I’m just very disappointed.

@Utdbeni Surely the same fundamental issue is obvious to you? We still lack a midfield that can dominate & control a game. Kobbie, Bruno & Casemiro don’t allow us to dominate games.

This run of form is good for our Champions League dreams but if the tactics is “go out and enjoy your selves” with no style of play we know these players will deliver as they did under ole but the question is, is this style sustainable or effective to win you any major trophy?

@Mike87_United Depends on the players, we’ve signed the right profile of hard workers in the summer, follow that up with a few decent midfielders & maybe a few defenders(FBs & a CB) we’ll look pretty good imo

I’ve seen nothing under Carrick that we didn’t see under Ole. A friendly old face comes in mid season and allows the players to do what they’re comfortable with while relaxing standards off the pitch. It works short term, it always has, it doesn’t work beyond that sadly.

@MartienBall One thing you can use for this, did we miss him when he got subbed? The answer to that is no.

It’s not “hate” to point out that Mbeumo has as many assists in his last two games as Amad has all season. It’s not hate or toxicity to expect more from a player with that level of talent. And if you’re happy with Amad’s output this season, you basically don’t rate him. He CAN and he SHOULD be doing much more than this. You can dribble past the whole team but without end product, what’s the point? This isn’t street football.

@UtdMicah Carrick is getting results with a team that doesn’t have a midfield that can dominate & control a game. He’s doing the best he can. Could he do better with a decent midfield? Maybe. If he keeps winning, he’s less of gamble than bringing in another manager imo.

I really think people should be more honest about our level of performance from Fulham onwards, this isn’t & hasn’t been good enough.

@utdHarryy How do you know he can’t be better with the correct players? A midfield that can dominate & control games? No manager will win us the league with our current midfield options.

I like Carrick but he cannot be the permanent manager. The way I look at it is, Carrick is good enough to get us champions league football every season, but he isn’t the guy to lead us back to winning league titles and champions leagues in my opinion. That’s where we need a world class manager

@Cantonadevils I got the same feeling under Carrick, as under OGS. It was clear from the first half sesko needed to come on. Subs should have happened around 55min mark. He waited far too long to change things. OGS use to do the same, be screaming for changes and he’d wait far too long.

Amorim; Draw against teams that sat in low block and were compact in shape. United fans; How could he draw to bottom half table team, it’s just Wolves, it’s just Nottingham forest. Carrick; Draw against WestHam. United fans; United have a problem of breaking down low block, Carrick will learn.
